True, but there are less safety conscious people out there, do you think the runners i saw had 'skimped' on the kit because we didnt get checked, or will they generally be the sort of people who try to carry as little as possible.Quote:

Whilst I was out today on Kinder one of the group was part of the committee for the RR50 and I made the point to him that last year there were competitors with out a waterproofs, hat or gloves, I know this because I handed mine out to some very sorry looking runners, thankfully all me gear was posted back with thanks but why would anyone venture out in winter to run 50 miles with out a waterproof:eek::mad:
let me assure any one on Tankies that I will be on Kit check and there will be a check, just as there was on the Edale Skyline.;)
Quite right too, the same runner from the RR50 told me never takes an extra top because he never gets cold whilst running (he's a very experienced vet ultra runner), but the 'extra' top is for when you are not or can't run! ........Quote:
