Re: Tonight's football thread
I notice that Portsmouth and Cardiff were both at the High Court today facing winding-up orders.
I think the last time they met was in the 2008 FA Cup Final!

Any Fulham fans out there? 4-1 down to Juventus, then to come back and win 5-4. Great night for Cottagers.

FULHAM 4 JUVENTUS 1 - Now I am sure more than a few took a photo of that score board. Well done Fulham.

Re: Tonight's football thread
Well up to the time that Stojkovic surrendered Wigan were just about holding their own with 10 men. City were rubbish in the first half apart from Tevez but after the sending off and Stojkovic doing his "I'm not worthy" in front of the two City strikers it was one way traffic.
Tevez 6 shots/5 on target/3 goals

''In my opinion, I don't think he was worth £25m. He was popular with the supporters. The fans quite rightly have their heroes and I was happy to go along with the deal as long as it was the right one but, quite simply, he is not worth £25m."

As forecast a while ago Leeds look like bottling it again, its just happening a bit earlier in the season than usual. On present form they might just scrape into the play offs

Messi is head and shoulders above every other player in the world....unbelievable!!!
He has to be already in the running for best player ever seen. And he's only 23?

Well played barca and messi, gave out a footie lesson to Arsenal. Was painful to watch after the Bunny Runs, went home feeling rather deflated. :(

Re: Tonight's football thread
Gracious in defeat?
Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson: "Young boy, inexperience, but they got him sent off.
They all rushed towards the referee. Typical Germans. You can't dispute that.
The key issues were the goal before half-time and then the boy getting sent off."
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger: "I believe we lost against a team that is better than us and that has the best player in the world."
