I did the dozen today in a leisurely 8-1/2 hours. It wasn't leisurely for me as I was going flat out!
Yes, it's a fine day out. I'll go round anti-clockwise next time.
Well done to Vet 50 Dave Holmes from DP who did a fantasic 5.47!! on May 29th is this the fastest vet's time. Geoff?
set off yesterday from Hayfield side with intention of doing full dozen
but deep heather/bilberry/bracken was a prob in a few areas, so ended up taking it a bit easier and having plenty of picnic-ing/sightseeing/rest stops - did 10 in the end - called it a day at Crowden Tower then jogged back via Woolpacks/EdaleCross/Tunstead
got a bit wet intermittently, but mostly a grand day out!
Had a run round this today.
Mist early on made navigation tricky. Sun came out though for a while which was lovely. Last 2.5 hours in the dark.
Tracklogs says I did near 30 miles and 12,400 of ascent.
A good hard day out.
Write up here.
Well Done richpips  looks like you had an "interesting" time around Ringing Roger :w00t:
I did a cheeky half-dozen yesterday
found a much better line than I've ever managed before dropping from Kinderlow to Kinder River - stayed higher up early on then started dropping more steeply later - this seemed to get me much more grassy stuff than rocky/broken ground that I've been used to
Thanks. I doubt any of my lines were optimal in the clag, or when it was dark. Makes me want to get to know the bits I don't know better.
I was up top today on the Northern edge and could see lots of better lines to the ones I'd taken.
The Ringing Rodger/ Golden Clough craziness was my GPS playing up, and not me running aimlessly round the fells :)
It's looking like it could be a snowy attempt for Dutch Peaks and I tomorrow....
Good luck boys.
Weather looks like being glorious. Have a great day out, and I'll look forward to hearing all about it tomorrow night.
I have just got back from a run on the trails around marple. Lovely evening but incredibly wet underfoot, my feet were frozen.
It could be like that tomorrow.
A few of us from Glossopdale went out and had a fantastic day in the sun on Sunday. A tad warm, but the springs were still flowing, so there were a good few places to re-fill the waterbottles, and dunk hot dogs.
A great day out, made all the better for the plateau team running around and meeting us in various places to cheer us on our way.

For a cuppa? absolutely.
How far are you planning on going? Its club night tonight....
PM sent
was out doing a few Kinder "bobs" today
got down to the footbridge over the Ashop half way down the Snake path, and er...
it's gone!
no bridge
deep paddle needed today, but it'll be vitrually uncrossable in winter when it ices over :w00t:
If you mean the plank that used to cross near the derelict builidings then that has been gone for long time.
this one: http://www.streetmap.co.uk/map.srf?X...0667&A=Y&Z=115
I didn't attempt the full set, but I quite often do a few as training (5 yesterday)
Thats the one. I used to cross there years ago and run along the path to the base of fairbrook.
There may have been one there since my last trip past but not sure.
It (wooden footbridge) was there when Gloss did the KD back in May this year, and a few of us supported them on the plateau. See Zephr's post on one page above.
I know it was there since I ran back from Fairbrook Naze to my car at Snake Summit via the bridge, and then up the grouse butts (east bank of Upper Gate Clough) on the landy track over the Featherbed Top back to SS.
OB1
PS. I don't have a photo, but I dont see how a sturdy wooden bridge like that could have gottenwashed away in this year's weather!?
Funnily enough, I contemplated running that area this morning at 8.30am, but instead John4of5 and I voted for Bleaklow instead.
I was up there early this morning Daz. No sign of the small foot bridge but the path into the wood was closed due to timber felling the sign said.
Yep - that Footbridge disappeared sometime this year. Quite a sturdy one from memory.
We ran down from Mill Hill area down towards Fairbrook and I couldn't help noticing as we ran down just how much the path (trod) had been completely obliterated by rain washout.
Therefore, it wasn't that much of a surprise that when we got to the bridge, we saw it had gone.
Must have been pretty epic up there June / July time this year ?
maybe they were felling a tree to make a new plank out of http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/...ile_smiley.gif
anyway, where's IanDarkpeak when you need him? I bet he knows when it'll be back... http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/...ink_smiley.gif
still no sign of a bridge http://www.runnersworld.co.uk/forum/...ing_smiley.gif
