'Proper runner' Fatty? Pray tell, what do you mean? :closed:

I like the 110's and have been running in them for the last month. Unfortunately the upper has ripped, the 'mesh' having caught, they are still functional but now a relatively new pair of shoes with a hole in the upper. I've found their predecessor, the 101's equally 'lightweight', the sole separating from the upper long before they could be considered tired or worn. I enjoy running in these NB shoes but I find them disappointingly flimsy.
Pretty much every size but 12 is back on SD, including half sizes!
12 being the ones I want
Interesting to see the womens version is now out, and the colours aren't ridiculous. Might give them a go to see if the fit is better for my tiny skinny feet.
Field and Trek are doing them for £35 atm. Think I might buy another pair :closed:
Couldn't hold back any longer. Even though I don't really need 'em - I'm really, really loving my TG's - I couldn't resist the price and only a 7.99 delivery to France. I had to order two different sizes just to be sure so will return the ones that don't fit. I'm hoping that Sport Direct aren't too crap about returns, they seem to have a stricter policy than most other retailers.
I'm thinking that these will probably end up being a high milage shoe for me, I've entered the Montcalm Marathon this year and was a bit apprehensive about pounding haut montagne for 6-7 hours in the TG's. I'm hoping that these will work well.
Slightly premature but SD/FT are taking orders for the new Minimus Trail 20's on their website!

Available October 2012. Anyone have any info on them?
Mine didn't fit in a 12 and I can't find a 12.5 so looks like it's back to Inov8! That's Adidas, Walsh and NB that seem to make shoes frustratingly small.
Got mine yesterday, 2 pairs to try on. Now my problem is that both seem okay... Normally I'm a 10 in most things so went for a 10.5 and and 11 to try. The 10.5 seems okay a little snug on the little toes but really nothing as bad as the fell shoes I used to wear! The 11 seems just a touch too long but the toes have a tiny bit more room. Should I go for the snug glove like fit or the more roomier fit? Do they stretch at all?
Just ordered my second pair of these. I don't usually buy second pairs.
Absolutely hammered my first pair, pretty much not even worn any other shoe besides a couple of races which required more grip.
The grip on the sole has stood up well, with the orange studs still with plenty of rubber on. There are a few cuts in the mesh outer, but thats partly my fault for playing footy in them a couple of times! :)
Other than that, the best running shoe I've owned since 2009, and by far the cheapest! Long live the MT110.
Couple of questions for you Ukhursty - After running in them for a while did the EVA compress? Do you notice the difference between your old pair and your new pair? Does the older pair's sole feel firmer - is there better groundfeel?
I've got about 130 miles on mine and they still feel squishy... Just wondering.
They took a few miles to bed in, but the first two runs I did were a 20 miler then a 25 miler, and after the initial tightness on the first run, they bedded in relatively quickly.
I would say that sole does feel better, and provides more ground feel on the old pair, and I'll still be using the old pair for most of my runs.
The only reason I've bought the new pair is for a specific job related to work.
I love these, ran the Highland Fling in them recently, super comfy though arch/ mid foot a little achy after due to some rock hopping. Not suitable for everything, but with the 101 for most traing and Mudclaws for steep or wet fell races these are go to long distance trail or dry fell race.

Lots of interesting new models from nb over on sports direct including 2 new minimus and a very nice looking racing flat
£35 at SD now, seems like a bargain
Just started using these more regularly and am very impressed. Very light and minimal feeling, but with enough cushioning and support to not mess up your calves if you're not really ready for properly minimal trainers.
Terrible on anything muddy and slippy I'd say, but great for hard-packed trails or dry conditions.
Agree with earlier posts that Trail Rocs would have to be amazing to be worth the extra money, although having a quick look on the internet I can't see loads of stock around. Maybe there's an updated version coming?
I think that the main benefit with the Trailrocs is the extra grip in soft conditions and protection around the midfoot
Love the MT110 for dry conditions on relatively smooth ground but the the lack of midfoot rockplate and exposed EVA caused my arches to take a beating on rocks.
There is a new trailroc range that promises improved durability and wiggle have stock of it. Should start to appear elsewhere soon. I've written a review of the 245's here if you are interested......
Thanks for that.
I can't see me ever paying for the trail rocs at those sort of prices as I'd only use them for the sort of things I'd use the MT110s for - harder packed, dryer stuff.
Muddier stuff I'd stick with Roclites or Saucony Peregrine I think.
Yep.....with you on that. I guess some will prefer the 'anatomical' fit of the Trailrocs but Roclites offer a more protective upper for sure
Finally got these broken in and I am now wearing thinner socks due to the snug fit; they battered the outside of my feet at first.
I think they're great, much grippier than the 101's which are lethal in the wet. I suppose both shoes make great sense in the dry hard pack trail world of America. I think I prefer the 101 but I'd like the sole made out of the same rubber compound as the 110.
I'm planning on wearing them in anger this Saturday at Llantysilio as Mudclaws are overkill for most of the race and the Mudclaws punish my forefoot on fast road descent finishes. I'll let you know if I break anything.
I'm looking forward to the new version of these, I did really enjoy the 110, I thought they were great for racing dry dusty and rocky terrain, but I did feel that the toe box tapered in a bit too sharply on the lateral side...Plus I had to belt sand them flat... I guess the anatomical fit is just not my thing although it never caused blisters, just a bit annoying. So I'm personally quite pleased to see that the next gen will be more of a trad design, with what looks like a stronger upper (I punctured my uppers on small sticks within days of use) and a much better looking sole design... If they can also keep the cost down to pre-2010 price levels like the current MT's then I think they'll be a winner. (I'd go for the black ones personally)

Well they were really suited to the terrain today at Llantysilio but they blackened me big toenail on the steep descent off Moel y Gamelin. They're a great shoe for trails with a smattering of road and summer fell races (without steep descents). I haven't seen a picture of the 110v2 before; looks like a good hybrid of the 101 and 110 - exactly what I'm after.
Just read that at the same time as releasing the MT110v2; NB will also release the 007 another trail shoe and the Minimus Trail Zero v2 (MT00v2)
see here http://runblogger.com/2013/08/2014-s...e-minimus.html apparently it has very little to do with the MT00v1 apart from zero drop but it sees the return of the RX Terrain tread pattern this promises to be good.
