I'm a bit apprehensive but count me in.
Me as a definate,
Im camping the night before with Castlehill, if anyone is interested in meeting up friday for a few beers PM me.
See you all Saturday Folks.
Geoff B will be doing his BG, will we see him on route or will the timings be all wrong
Cheers
Jamie
Oh by the way,
where are we meeting for the reccie and what time
I'm in at the moment, but whether I make it or not depends on how my recovery from Ennerdale goes.
Yep, I'm still in. Will anyone be passing through Kendal that morning who could give a lift??
Am a definitely maybe. Slightly concerned re having enough miles in the legs (what sort of training people up to?). Am thinking it will take about 6 hours, is that near the mark?:o
I will be there, maybe late friday - ok with tents in the dark NOYN? Good job it will be light until late!
my physio has told me that i MAY be ok to run by then. suggested i start earlier and walk the first bit til you guys catch me up. Anyone else up for this ? Then I will try and run some. Very unsure about unjury yet...hopeful though!:)
Will you be coming along Huwski or are you still not right?
Hmmmm... decided I am being far too optimistic in expecting to be there for this but hey ho.... (still struggling up stairs!!!) ....will see what physio says :o
Doing the race but can't do a recce this weekend. If anyone is interested in a midweek recce (any day Tuesday -- Friday), let me know.
Don't want to miss out on a reccie but my left achilles is stiff when I walk never mind run - will try an easy run this weekend & make a decision 1 way or t'other next week.
Ive been a bit thick. Am going to Cornwall on 21st:confused:
I am definately not doing it, the reccie or the race. End of story, no trying to convince me either. So I won't be there, good luck to the rest of you.
Graeme,
You dissapoint me.
A man of your means will get round nae bother.
If you are concerned about route finding, I'll give you some hints.
I hope you don't think you aren't fit enough, it's all in the mind mate.
You can do it with a bit of self belief, don't psyche yourself out.
I still hope to see you there.
Dave.
no trying to convince me either...
Ahhh go on go on go on...
Route finding won't be a problem if I'm going round, I aim to do it on blind luck.
It's the fitness thing, I haven't done much lately, well nothing really, we'll see how things are in a couple of weeks. I need to do something other than the fairfield hoseshoe in the lakes though.
Sorry I forgot to add, if I die doing this its your fault ;)
I'm just going to follow the leader ;)
That's the problem I will be there as much as I don't want to do it, I know i'll be there, and I know it's going to hurt.
Goodbye Cruel world :)
Don't worry about it, I've not done much training!!
I've got 6 weeks to get it sorted.
graeme,
A little tip when training for Borrowdale and something I always think about when training is tough and I'm having my doubts.
This thought always seems to pull me through and gives me confidence

The Piss up Afterwards :)
Having survived and enjoyed the Kinder Trog today, I'm definitely on for the reccie. Does anyone know where we should be going, or will it be the the blind leading the blind?
As well as where we are meeting and what time.
Good to see you again today Marvin
anyone got any spare maps
yeah cmon what time
is it on sat or sunday
Saturday and emmilou knows the way!
I'm sure she will be on here soon with arrangements.
Having got around Kinder Trog yesterday I'm hoping Borrowdale isn't too much harder.
Its about twice as hard and a little bit more.
Saying that yesterday gave me some confidence about borrowdale.
I thought at the weekend 'I'd better start getting some long runs in'.
I did 15 long hilly miles on saturday and it nearly killed me, I some how seem to have lost all my fitness this past month since Buttermere, I've got six weeks to try and get it back
Bad news I'm afraid - Borrowdale is a lot harder than the Kinder Trog! More climbing, rougher terrain and no organised water stops. You can expect to be out for twice as long at Borrowdale compared to the Kinder Trog.
I showed emmi and wobblehead the route!
The only thing they didnt do was the direct descent from scafell pike, because I was curious to find out how descending to lingmell coll and the start of the corridor compared with the race route
( in conclusion dont! whilst I am not sure there is much in it on time, it is really rough and unpleasant - at least with the scree descent you get it over very quickly, and if you fall, even quicker still.....)
Hey up - Does anyone (emmilou????) have the garmin trace of the last reccie?
My leg is healing slowly and I am hoping to see you all at some part of the day. Would be good to be on Scafell Pike at 1:00pm to give GeoffB a cheer though.
Tip! Take a map and a compass, use them, note down the key bearings.... :D
