1750... thermometer just dropping below zero, snow on the ground and lights charging. Meeting a mate for a bit of off-road single-speeding at 1930.. should be fun, will report back.

great ride..only two ice related spills. Nothing better than a snow covered bottom bracket!
1.5 hours on the track! We had a pileup, thankfully I wasn't involved :)
Still not experienced the smell of lycra melting into your skin...
It was caught on youtube....

Where can i get a good workstand from
Stripped the bike down to its bare bones to clean it and im fed up of trying to do it without a stand to hold it.
Oh and AJ wasnt happy id wrecked three towels drying her
I explained that my lovely Bianchi requires soft towels and affection but she just growled at me.
Not so cold today. Its getting a tad lighter too!
Tea towels, now thats a good idea, reckon we have loads of those, not going to miss a few........
Hurrah, blow for freedom today, got a lift to the gym, managed to get my leg over the sit down static cycle. 10 mins of gentle cycling!! The comeback has started. Only trouble was I could only cycle very slowly, the machine obviously got bored and turned itself off:o
I tend to use all of the t-shirts I tend to accumulate from races/events... saying that though for the last few months I've been riding my fixed gear on the road and a singlespeed mtb on the trails so not so stressed about cleaning!
Power test on the turbo hooked up to a computer... interesting but not very exciting...
I use towels, t-towels, whatever comes to hand. I also stick my bike in the bath after a ride and shower it down with luke warm water to get the salt and road grime off it :) Obviously, it then needs spungeing off with a facecloth and drying with a fluffy towel... :)
No wonder I live alone... 4.5 bikes in the very small house, a bike in the bath and all towels/cloths/t-towels tend to have irremoveable oil stains on them... Who on earth wants a woman like that ;)
I nearly was splattered on the bike tonight on the way home from work.
I cut through an industrial park to save myself about a mile (its abit of a rat-run, im not doing anything wrong just to make it clear).
This wagon pulled straight out cutting up my path and then did a U-turn in the middle of the road and nearly hit me twice - First with the front of the wagon and then secondly with the trailing trailer.
And they say lorry driver are the best driver!!!
Fogged off !!
Yes!!
15 mins on the static bike at >50rpm. It didn't turn itself off. Result:)
Well done Toffer!! ;)
Well done toffer
40miles tonight on my bike and after starting my new year diet 3 days ago and eating nothing but salad and greens im 4lb heavier than i should be:(.
Damm
Riding in a bunch was lots of fun! 30 very easy miles (i didn't hit the front, want to get the hang of riding in a pack). Then a nice 15 miles home. Very enjoyable.
Very windy this morning. Very quick on the way into work, and we all know what that means. Getting home will be tough!
easy hour on the fixed gear road bike today.. planning 2 hours single-speed mtb tomorrow... it's turning into a gear-free winter!
40 miles this morning around Pendle and into the Ribble valley. I may frequent this thread if my calf tendon continues to misbehave.
20 mins level 10 random and hills @90rpm. 10 mins xtrainer. Looking good. Shame I can't walk yet!
14 of us out this morning. 77 enjoyable miles. 5 Of us came back from the cafe at Scorton the longer, hillier route via the trough of Bowland. Felt good considering the amount of cycling I've not been doing of late. 17.5 average all told.
A swift 50 miles this morning with 4 others from the club. There's a sneaky cold wind blowing today. Better give mi chain a wipe down with the tea towel.
I went out on my bike this morning and got really really cold.
Obviously I need to wear more clothes and not be such a scaredy cat on the steep down hills.
At least I kept peddling and didn't lie down in the hedgerow which is what I felt like doing.
A few rides to log here: Saturday was supposed to go out with the bf's tri club, but the bf lost some spokes, so we cut it short... still, 20-ish miles done at reasonable pace...
Sunday: was supposed to do 50-ish miles, then decided on a 30 mile round trip with a coffee stop at a friend I had not seen in a long time in the middle. Was on Dartmoor and got blown off the road, bike and all, it was so windy (and cold, but unlike Milli I was wearing enough clothes, so that did not matter :D). Just as well I was clipped in, or I would have been chasing the bike over the moor... I did not say no when my friend suggested he'd drop me back, as it was dangerously windy...
Today I cycled to work in the snow on the crossbike, which was good! It has excellent grip on the snow, even on the steep uphills...
Track tonight...
So cold this morning!
Knocking on 70 miles social ride today. Cafe shut at Clapham so back to the Settledown in Settle for beef & veg hash and a side of chips! Good day out with dry roads on the way back and cold winter sun all day - no tan though.
50 miles on Sunday in the freezing cold, brrrrr, I had to force myself off the bike as I had frozen onto it, then collapsed in a heap for hours with the heating on high, the woodburner roaring, hot soup, hot drinks and wrapped up in a blanket in front of the fire, feeling cold for hours!
About 50 kms last night on the track, which was brilliant and not so cold, although the heating wasn't on, so not particualrly warm either...
Turbo tonight...
