Hi
This race is on this sunday 11th april, I'd like to run it but entries are now closed. Does anyone have an entry but isn't going to run?
cheers :)
FRA calendar says entry on the day allowed but you pay an extra £1. Sorry to be a bit of a trainspotting anorak but the race is actually spelt Gisborough Moors but sets off from Guisborough! Come and seek me out on Sunday and I can pass on some other gems of pedantry.
I will be there :)
Yes there will be entry on the day
Me too
I didn't know the above but have done this race and will be there. It was glorious weather last year and a great run.
Are you going to be at this one Nee Bother? Im hoping to make it, if I recover from a virus that has knocked the hsit out of me! Another victory in the team event for DFR maybe??
Another victory in the team event for DFR maybe??---------Not in a million years if NFR turnout!!!:D
sounds like a challenge, bring it on
i think the entire nfr clan's oot
Yes well all you athletes I will be doing my bit for the back of the pack/ underdogs out there (and NSP  i am sure they will be entirely grateful!!!!).......:)
being at the back isn't so bad really, plenty space to construct sonnets :D
Having effectively missed a whole year through injury my aim is to simply complete the event.
I suspect I might see you near the back Freckle
I'll be doing it.
Kit choice a bit tricky, imagine it can get a bit fresh on the tops. Maybe too warm for a helly but something underneath the vest might be in order.
Sorry if that makes me sound like a road running jessie! :)
I'm aiming to be there as a Fell Pony. If tomorrow is like the last couple of days, it'll be vest and sunscreen. About time too!
Ooh! Ooh! I love pedantry!
So here I'm looking at my map of the route for tomorrow (and feeling slightly scared) and on my 1:25000 it has Guisborough Woods, but, Gisborough Moor! (singular, just the one moor).
This is getting complicated. Should apostrophes be involved here? Should I have my tea and go to bed?
Only one Gisborough Moor
But another three moors on route :D:rolleyes:
Had a bit of a struggle and finished about 8 mins slower than last year.
Beautiful weather though, and stunning views, which I had all the more time to admire.
A following wind up Roseberry Topping was an unexpected bonus.
Saw a few forumites, but perhaps not as many of the Usual Suspects as anticipated.
I was some 20 minutes behind where I would have expected to be had I been fully fit.
But after a year in the wilderness training wise through various reasons, I was happy to get around in one piece.
Had I not, I suspect I might have retired and taken up golf
i was there, by eck it was hard work but enjoyable...well erm the last mile and a bit was when i knew i was nearly there!.....lovely friendly organisers thank you for all your hard work, nice to see hes there and running so well and thanks to phil green for a nice bit of banter at the start, i can't believe you ran that AFTER Allendale (well impressed!)....well two down out of my ten races planned this year....Anniversary Waltz next!
ps trog and tussockface - i would have said hi had I known who you were! I was the one at the back in blue!
Very tired now.

Freckle: We were obviously close at the start; I too was at the back near the man with the dog.
Looking at the photos there were only a dozen or so behind me at the top of the road.
well done freckle! you did really well , cracking pic of you here

Some great photos with a quite a few Fell goddesses (poetry in motion:D), I really enjoyed the run in great weather and had some good downhill battles with close rivals (friendly ones at that), missed presentation though had to get back home sharpish.
Well done to Dave Aspin for the photos.
more finish pics taken by my son Thomas
Fabulous run that really enjoyed it.
It's my first year in fell running and it's races like yesterday's made me realise how much I am enjoying the switch from road running.
:)
It was a grand day on the moors :-) As predicted previously in thread Durham Fell Runners had a good day out, 1st lady and both men and womens team winners, as well as many other good individual wins in the various age categories :-)
DFR, the north easts fell running club
