U gone Ukulele crazy:eek:
really odd but compelling tune that I heard on Sheffield Live (an eclectic community radio station) last night. Not to sure how to describe the genre of music - but it made me smile!
listen on myspace at - http://www.myspace.com/mikolaje
track called Kolomyjka Jarocinska Remix
my best description is Polish Folk music at happy-hardcore speed with an old school ska beat...
I've never heard music like it!

It's symptomatic of modern life that it's not good enough just to tell you what I'm listening to.
OK, I'll find it on youtube...

It does really do it justice. Part of the appeal of the old 97s is their comedy lyrics:
I've got my wife, the other women, and the whiskey killing me.
The first two make it so that I see red. The third one makes it so that I can't see.
If I had half a brain left after my debauchery,
I'd give up the other women, and the W-I-F-E.
Wedding vows weren't made to be broken.
These here lips weren't made to tell no lies.
Somewhere along the way, I guess I must have gone astray,
'Cause I'm drinking here, and wishing for to die.
I've got my wife, the other women, and the whiskey killing me.
The first two make it so that I see red. The third one makes it so that I can't see.
If I had half a brain left after my debauchery,
I'd give up the other women, and the W-I-F-E.
It's just like my little sister told me,
In the end, you reap what you sow.
I've been sowing seeds from Mexico to Tennessee,
And I'm reaping now an awful lot of woe.
I've got my wife, the other women, and the whiskey killing me.
The first two make it so that I see red. The third one makes it so that I can't see.
If I had half a brain left after my debauchery,
I'd give up the other women, and the W-I-F-E.
I'd give up the other women, and the W-I-F-E.
I was also amazed that the website with the lyrics offered me this as a ring-tone to my cellphone. [smilie to express disbelief]

I have to say, although this song is great, the band must have been on all sorts of drugs to think that this video was anything other than rubbish.

Well if the theme is truck driving - you need to listen to the lyrics.

Not quite truck driving, but keeping me entertained up the M5/M6 has been:
Some mediaeval choral shizzle courtesy of R3, Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy on R4 (okay, so not music:rolleyes:), with The Cure and Radiohead filling in the gaps inbetween.
Only 80 or so miles to go.
or this one,

For a geniune song from the truckin genre - the daddy of them all

On a different tack - heard this on the radio today - don't especially like it but can't shake it from my head.

The last song has made me think of this, another annoying piece of fluff in a similar style.

Very good venue, easy parking/access and good layout of hall and good clear acoustics.
The 1st 25 mins was all about his new stage play thing called 'Moonshadow' and featured actors singing and dancing to some of his stuff - all a bit am dram and weak really. Anyway after a short break he came back and gave 1 hour 25 of ininterrupted classic cat. His vocals and playing style have not faded and the musicians on stage were top notch with fantastic arrangements - Alun Davies was also there too (wonder what he did in the 30 year gap??). He mixed up his old and newer songs with the best crowd reaction to Peace Train and Moonshadow.
