I'm not sure which is worse: Bryan spending the time to set the blog up, or me thinking, 'Oh I ought to follow that!' :o

I'd completely forgotten that I'd set that up last night! :))
It is really all Daz's fault for even suggesting there was such a site ;)
A horse was coming towards me as I was riding along a quiet narrow country road today - as we became level with each other the horse reared up and I got an earful of abuse. The horse and rider had plenty of time to see me - I had a bright yellow top on - should I have stopped as soon as I saw the horse?
No you shouldn't have stopped.
No, you should'nt... But what is helpful when encountering horses while you are on a bike is to actually talk... anything random will do, so the horse realises you are a human being. They can't hear bikes very well, or perceive what they are unless they are used to them and by talking they realise you are a human being and nothing to be afraid off...
I just say: I am just talking out loud so your horse knows I am nothing to be afraid of... works :) Or just saying good afternoon/morning to the rider, but not when you are right behind the horse, as they will still have a fright. They have a limited range of what they can see and are easily frightened by the unknown... so passing wide is a good idea, as they can't see what is behind them!
