I always thought a Saturday event was better but having now helped in organising one I can see why Sunday could be better option. We spent some 3 hours marking course on Thursday, another 3 on Friday then from around 0800-1600hrs on Saturday............and that was just marking the course, not talking about the host of other time consuming aspects that others were involved in. So, unless you had an organising committee who were able to take the Friday off then it'd be a right job. Having said that Kettlewell 2011 was Saturday as was Bowland 2007 so it's clearly possible.....

I think you will find that to keep all religious groups happy races have to alternate between Saturday and Sunday.

What a great day. Did leg 1 and really enjoyed it. Thanks to the organisers, marshals and cake makers for a really memorable experience. Loved it.

Leg 2 can be run as a single race but in the opposite direction in the guise of the Moel Eilio race (usually in May I think) it's an absolute classic route far better that way round too!

I thankfully got my hands out in time, or there would be a pic of me just like that! I thought I'd let CL take the title of 'coal miner' though. Had a great time on leg 3, perfect prep for the OMM next weekend :-)
