Actually, I'm having problems with the video too - it's running as a fast series of stills with no sound, followed by about 3 seconds of movement (but still no sound) right at the end. I'm going to restart and try again.
I would need to know how far you got and what happened on screen. It could be your antiviral software or it might depend on the power of your PC. Broadband connection?
In the meantime try this like to an embedded site in Bingley Harriers. Scroll down and you should see an entry with the video. Hope this helps http://www.bingleyharriers.org.uk/fo...&start=10#p616
Sorry to hear that Tussockface. I can only think that the frame rate is too much for you processor and /or connection speed. Click on my signature and you'll see the videos I took in the last few months since I was injured. Do any of them work for you?
I will at some stage be making DVDs of all these so that I can take them off my machine because they occupy huge amounts of my hard drive. The plan is that when I start racing again I can take a few with me if requested and just swap them for a blank DVD. They will be converted into an AVI file wich means they will work on your TV (through your player of course) with a huge increase in definition and quality. The downside of that is that it also enhances the faults, shakes and wobbly bits:o
Yes, I've watched the other videos you've uploaded and they've worked fine. The music's working now but the images still 'stick' and jump; same from the Bingley site, same using a different web browser. I use a Mac so wondered if that was the issue, but I'd expect that to cause problems watching your other videos too. Maybe it's a temporary ISP thing. I might check connection speeds later.
Oh and one other thing, I think it requires the latest free download of adobe flash player! Flash Player 10 try http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/
The Adobe install made no difference. Your Ilkley and Bunny Run 1 videos run perfectly for me (I've just retried them), but Bunny 2, 3 and 3Ps are 'stopframe'. Did you alter any of your own technology/settings after Bunny 1?
Bretts birthday run was even better! What a weekend!
when I press play screen goes black and starts to download film. when the down load is complete nothing happens. this is true of all the videos?
Just tried the Bingley Link same thing happens.
Modem speed is very quick round here.
I'll down load the flash player and try again.
Well done to everyone who made it round. I saw most of you but was hidden in a tent at the Hill Inn watching a laptop.
Quick question regarding prizes, does anybody know why there is discrepancies between the men’s prizes and women’s? For instance there is a V60 prize for men but not for women?
I would have thought in this day and age there would be equal prizes!
If this hasn't been said yet can I say it, what a cracking run from Daleside, she was 12th lady, slashed half an hour off last year's time, this after being on the beer the night before and missing her pre-race tiramisu - and even said no to jellytots on Inglebro. Outstanding run.
And on prizes - I'd like to see one for "best turned-out" like they do at the horse racing, there could have a parade of runners beforehand and a celeb judge - surely the Ponies would agree.
Basking in the sun in Turkey trying to nurse my sore toes back into life.
It appears to be a problem for some users. I have been checking the site and there are issues discussed under "Stuttering Video" (Vimeo Help Column) The common denominator in some cases appears to be 1)Mac users 2)Safari or Firefox browsers. If you check out this link, http://www.vimeo.com/forums/topic:11661#comment_1298269 it is not consistent. It may be a "bug" in Vimeo's system as they haven't been going as long as YouTube. I haven't altered any of my upload settings, merely added different audio/music tracks but that shouldn't effect it. I may try a music free upload to YouTube for the Finish video of the Three Peaks as there was less 'wind roar' down there. I'll get back on here when I've finished editing. It appears to be about 7 minutes long, though it is 'Bingley Orientated'.
Tussock, try this. Its the finish I've uploaded to You Tube. http://tiny.cc/ThreePeaks712
Use the HQ button at the right of the screen. Forgive the windroar. The clapping gives it atmosphere! Let me know if you still have problems!
Great. I've found out a few things. Firstly YouTube is still a pain in the ****. I had to resize my video so that it fits dimensions of 480 x 360. Okay with the first one. I've just had three goes to download the original Part one. Eventually it accepted it http://tiny.cc/PeaksPart1 but muted the audio track because it would be in dispute with Warner Music Group. As I paid for the original track and this video is not for profit they really get up my nose, which is why I didn't use them in the first place! Now I've got over that little rant. Enjoy it complete with some classical music supplied by YouTube.
One of our Preston Harriers has posted a vid on youtube, s'ok I asked first before putting it on here but you may recognise one or two faces :D
