Pushing on your lactate treshold is what I do for racing... It doesn't exactly build endurance... It is long rides in the top end of zone 3 that do that... Zone 2 is only for recovery..

A gentle 4k jog this morning followed by 30mins on rollers at 110 cadence this afternoon.
Keeping HR just below zone 2 and calling it active recovery.
Couple of hours riding the Gospel Pass... it is great to have a little route that makes you climb for about half of it, at differing gradients, culminating in the Gospel Pass :) 23 - 26 kms of climbing without proper respite, I call that training :)
Great WIN for Wiggins in the PARIS-NICE today!! Not only won the time-trail but won the points jersey as well and overall...Bring on Le TOUR!!!!!!!!!
Never mind Wiggins, he's an amateur ;)
Another Tour des Montagnes Noires for me today: Llanvihangel, Pantygelli, Abergavenny, Llanfoist, up the Tumble, turn right at the Keepers Pond, down a very narrow, ropey and mountainous little lane, incredibly steeply into Gilwern, Llangattock, Llangynidr Mountain, Crockhowell, Llanbedr, Fforest, bottom end of Llanthony Valley and back home. Can feel my little legs now, as it was only a short one, so decided to ride it quite hard :w00t:
good job you are professional Hann :-D
I rode 28 miles in glorious sunshine, including riding to watch some mates finish their fell race then riding to meet hungry baby who was out climbing with her dad
Some good efforts there Han. Just connecting that route together on the ( 1/2" : 1 mile ) road atlas. Looks as if you have a fabulous network of back roads around your neck of the woods?
