Re: Heptonstall Fell Race
[QUOTE=Roubaix;531659]Trig, rumor has it there is some check point changes on the route for this year? Don't tell me my hours of running across Heptonstall Moor trying to find the same trod twice are all in vain?[/QE]
Good piont Roubaix - you heard right; We have increased the number of CPs - the local scouts are able to cover more CPs,, allowing us to man checkpoints on all the hill tops - I have just been up-dating our race map to correctly show the 2013 CPs; I must stress that the 2013 route is not effected by the additional CPs. (your recce's were not in vain!) The CPs have been added to assist safety and avoid any potential for corner cutting...we will post the 2013 race map PDF on the race website tonight www.heptonstallfellrace.org.uk
Re: Heptonstall Fell Race
Well, I'm not going to be able to do this one now. I'm writing from a hospital bed in Airedale having just had my appendix whipped out. Still, next year I'll be carrying a few grams less weight.

Blimey - good luck with that Tussockface - does that mean we won't be seeing you in the master's lounge for a while?

2013 RACE MAP - NOW AVAILABLE TO DOWNLOAD ON WEBSITE - http://www.heptonstallfellrace.org.uk/route
Finally got the updated 2013 PDF uploaded - the only major changes are a few additional CPs. All CPs will be manned this year (rather than self-clip)
Don't forget that full fell running kit is compulsory - including map, whistle, and compass.
We also have plans for 2 water stations....Lady Royd Farm, and near to the Blue Pig (just before the final ascent to Heptonstall)
Re: Heptonstall Fell Race
Hi Trig, what was the response to the race t-shirts?! Are they available on the day and if so, how much? They look great

Quite a bit of interest but we have nt gone to print yet - the runner (Jedi) is a designer and he was palying round with a few mock-ups - I have one I'll wear out on Sunday - the guy who screen-prints can do them to order - we will send him the basic design then anyone can order direct
Just had a great offer from the landlord at the White Lion - 20 free pint vouchers to be redeemed at the White Lion at 14.00 just ahead of prize giving at 14.30 - to encouarge people to hang on for the prize giving - was thinking of giving them out as runners finish just need to come up with a system...

Yep, we'll be there. Are there any drink stops en route? Apparently one of the farms was giving out drinks and flapjack last year? Just planning my picnic.
John.
