My answer to that Zoot is that I don't know; sure as hell don't leave it until the morning of the race to find out as the fellsman kit check is the most detailed and closely scrutinised kit check in Christendom - they even check your fellshoes for worthyness and sufficient grip
Having just read the majority of this threat - My take on all this mapping stuff is - you must carry the OL 2 & 30. I will do exactly this, all wrapped up and stuck in my daysac. My navigation though will be from a selection of choice waterproofed colour photocopies with the leg notes etc annotated on it. As far as I am concerned - I am obeying the rules completely.
First Time I did it i used just the 98 Ha won't do that again.
The last two times I've had just one of the OL which does most of the route and 2 a4 sections of the bits that are missing Fleetmoss I think and this "got through" kit check. I was lucky I think but had all the maps in my hold all just in case.
No walls/fences marked?
Because it was the only map i had and i was 17 and a student= No money.
But that was when it was a real race;) non of this starting and finishing in day light. Every one had to do the night as it was a midday start.
23.21 as a walker in heavy full shank mountain boots. we were hard in them days:rolleyes:
