There was a dusting near Cockermouth today at the Blake Fell race, loads of dogs there too Ernie would have loved it. I had to say a stern Noooo to a houndy looking dog with his eyes on the runners' custard creams!

No fresh snow in the north pennines overnight, a wee dusting on Friday, but plenty of hard, very run-able, snow banks and the peat is frozen solid - lovely.

1.5 inches here this morning. I may get to try out my snow socks (for the car) in anger after all. It's only doing it because I stated it was the end of the snow on my blog last night.

I left Sheffield this morning with clear blue skies and and biting frost. Arrive in fog at hayfield and saw cars covered in snow!!!! From out you way I guess
