Was up and down the tourist route on wednesday did not see any tape but did see some locals training on the bank keeping close to the burn . There was also loads of people with loose dogs also a couple of people carrying babies
In response to a request to the Race Secretary for clarification of the area affected, I've had the following response this evening:
" You know as much as myself at this stage, the cordoned off area is being set by a local quango, it is our (BNRA) opinion that on the day, there will be no cordoned off area"
I have just received this email:
"Hi there,
I hope you don't mind me sending you this email, but I understand some of your members are coming up to Fort William next weekend for the Ben Nevis Race! I have contact our local club (Lochaber Athletic Club) but wondered if you might be able to help as there are some unaffiliated runners participating.
We have recently opened up our accommodation and are trying to spread the word about who we are and what we do. As we are situated right at the foot of Ben Nevis, we would like to offer Ben Nevis Race runners a 'race deal' for exclusive use of the house for the weekend. Our house has been set up as a great base for mountain bike holidays, but we are also ideally situated for walking and climbing.
If you think that your runners might not have booked yet, or if they would be interested in looking at our website, please could you forward this message on. The link to our website is http://trailab.com. We can be flexible with prices whether one night or three, and depending on the size of the group! Feel free to drop me a line for more info.
Many thanks,
Robbie Bellshaw

Hmmm, wonder what he means by 'unaffiliated runners' when the very first rule on the BNRA site starts 'Competitors must be members of a bona fide Athletic Club'? :-/
So... everybody ready for the weekend in Fort William?
Why have my calves begun to tighten up already, I've had to take a hot bath to loosen them up.
Lets hope for some nice cool but clear weather conditions eh.
