I ran the ups too!! And ooh... there must have been a good 200 metres of ups all in. The man from del monte might recognise the route too as its a Settle Harriers winter run.

Sorry guys, Im not going to be around either Saturday, still got this Hip Problem that wont let me do any running, ive had a month off now and its just beginning to get better. As much as i know i could fling myself around the fells this weekend, I know it would set me back again and I want to be training ready for April next year. Hope you all have a great time and hopefully meet a few of you at some races this coming year All the best..

If my maths are correct (doubt it)30 runners, 29 curry eaters.
Although...who is 'an other'?
Looks like we are dropping like flies?
I should have been on my way up by now, but not a chance in the world I am safe to drive all the way up to the Lakes :( So unless anyone offers me a lift from S Wales, I am definitely a no-go :(
I'd probably be well enough for some socialising, provided I don't touch any alcohol with the cocktail of antibiotics, Ibuprofen and paracetamol I am taking, it would fry my kidneys and liver all at once
Nah, you can wear anything... and besides, students don't semll their own sweat, right? So what is wrong with wearing the same kit 3 days in a row? :D
Ok... Where the chuff is Scales? :o:confused::o
Right there...

Are you giving him a lift down to Scales after you've both been to drop his car off at Mungrisdale village with the surprise on board? I've already told him i'm bailing at Mungrisdale i just wanted to make sure that if it was you giving him a lift back down that you didn't drive something with only two seats.
Emmi, Emmi, Al's getting gids and making lists in your absence. :p
Fell-top conditions
FELLTOP CONDITIONS REPORT from Helvellyn at 1.00pm on Thursday 17th December 2009.Fresh snow has fallen at all levels although it is rapidly thawing below 400m. Above 400m the snow depth increases with height to reach 5cm in drifts. Especially above 600m, paths and rocks are covered in verglas (thin ice). Frequently this ice is covered by a thin layer of snow making the going difficult even on well established paths such as those climbing Helvellyn from Thirlmere. Full winter clothing, footwear and equipment are essential for anyone venturing out onto the fells. For those going above the snow line and attempting steep routes or traversing steep ground an ice axe is strongly recommended and crampons should be carried in case the fresh snow gets deeper and freezes. Currently, no winter climbs are in condition and attempting them will result in environmental damage to sensitive upland vegetation. Summit statistics today (these are taken when the Fell Top Assessor is on the summit, they do not represent max/min figures for the past 24 hours). Temperature, minus 4.6C. Wind chill, minus 14.7C. Max wind speed, 30.1 mph. Average wind speed, 22.4 mph.
 literally
Right this is me signing off, see you all at the Moot Hall on Saturday. Travelling from Herts tomorrow AM and snow is hacking down here, could be a long day on the roads. The original idea was a long run tomorrow in the lakes, but judging by that forecast I may have to tone it down a bit.
Can the first one to the lakes make a start on the Snowman :D
All being well I should be in Keswick by early afternoon tomorrow - was planning on going on the motorbike but that's looking rather inadvisable now! Hopefully going to go up Skiddaw if feeling energetic, Bleaberry Fell if less so, and might see the Abba-ers in the George later on.
See you all soon :D
I'll be in Keswick by lunchtime tomorrow. The plan is to meet up with Merrylegs early afternoon for a trot up Causey Pike, be at the Moot Hall at 8 bells to see Swiss Toni on his way then into the George to meet the ABBA crew (although I won't be ABBA-ing myself :D ).
Bet I don't sleep tonight :D
I am starting to feel really sorry for myself :(:(:(
I had so been looking forward to this weekend :(
[QUOTE=Hanneke;286459]I am starting to feel really sorry for myself :(:(: I had been so looking forward to this weekend.
Awwww bless you Hann. We will all be thinking of you.....especially as you will be all warm and cosy while we will be like icicles!
I was like you last year, feeling sorry for myself cos I couldn't go as I was preggers.....but that was self inflicted!
You'll be surprisd how quickly next XOTF comes round!
Chin up xxx
Wuss.
Seriously though, how do you keep your, ah, nether regions comfortable? On my lunchtime run, which was at all about 200ft above sea level, it was starting to ache down there running into the blizzard. I always thought going commando in loose cut shorts was fine until today  I'm turning into a wimp too :(
You are a load of whimps! What is all this stuff and nonsense about it being cold? -4.6 isn't cold, windchill; of -15 isn't all that cold either! Get a grip!
