Recently I have been thinking about how haiku should be presented. I have an anthology and some pages can have five haiku on them. I think they lose something when presented en masse. The simplicity of a single haiku on a page is, for me, part of their essence. I have a couple ideas for some books of my own haiku. I've got a lovely little book of one man's haiku from one year in his life. They are on one page each, and it does add to them. Cramming too many on a page doesn't always show them at their best, but I guess that has to be done for financial reasons some times. Just wait until you see the magazine next month, they are crammed in a bit!

Your idea for your book sounds stunning.

I guess it's a case of a 'surfeit' of haiku ....or...

too many haiku
leaves the mind too bewildered
to grasp the essence.
