Honesty may be the best policy, but it's important to remember that apparently, by elimination, dishonesty is the second-best policy.

Withnail.
Got a free coffee yesterday and it brought it to mind!
'Are you the farmer?'
Stop saying that, Withnail! Of course he's the f*cking farmer!
Great film. There's a nice little run out if you park at Wet Sleddale resevoir that takes you up by Sleddale Hall, the cottage used in the film. It's fenced off at the moment; looks like someone's bought it and is (very slowly) doing it up. It's possible to hop over the fence and have a poke round outside. Last time I was there there was loads of quotes from the film scribbled over the boarded up doors and windows. Nice running round there, definitely off the beaten track.
Yep, amazing film.
If I went to the house, I'd have to leave a hare outside with a note pinned to the door. No prizes for guessing what the note would say!
Laissez-moi respirer longtemps, longtemps, l'odeur de tes cheveux! Brings back such memories of Oxford.
Uncle Monty, Withnail and I
It's the most devastating moment in a young man's life, when he quite reasonably says to himself, "I shall never play The Dane!" It is at that moment that all ambition ceases to exist.
