I wish this was in a couple of weeks time. I'm actually feeling reasonably fit at the moment and would like to get on with it. Having said that I'm going to need eight or nine months to decide which shoes to wear :closed:

I will be running the Lakeland 100 for Cancer Research UK as just before I got my comformation e-mail through me and my wife got some bad news about a very close family member and thought it would be a great way to raise the profile a little more. A good wat to keep me mottivated in training and keep me going on the day.

I was wondering are we allowed to get kit like new shoes, clothes from a helper on the way around the 100.?
I don't think you're allowed to receive anything en route
You can drop a bag at the half way point:
"The Lakeland100 starts at 6.00pm on Friday July 26th 2013 in Coniston and the maximum time allowed for the event is 40 hours (10:00am Sunday final finish time). The event will be very well supported, food and drink will be available at each checkpoint and details of each will be provided in advance. At registration you will be allowed to hand a bag (we will provide a specific numbered bag) to the organisers which can be collected at the Dalemain Estate checkpoint, anything you leave in this bag will then be returned to the finish at Coniston. This will be the only point where you can access your own food and equipment, it is against race regulations and the spirit of the event for personal supporters to meet you on the route and provide outside assistance which other competitors may not be able to access."
Ah! I hadn't thought about the drop bag at Dalemain!
I have completed the L50 twice now, and support from outsiders on route is a definite NO!!! And could result in DQ. As mentioned by someone else for the 100 you do have a drop bag at Dalmain and its up to you what you leave in there, many people put another pair of trainers as well as full change of kit, extra food to carry etc...
