I'm still picking gorse splinters out of my hands. One from each thumb this afternoon.
Same here ! I slipped on the last downhill bit before the road and put my hands down on the gorse. OWwww
Steve - what are you fell running in at the moment? You mentioned you'd got some Bikilas and found them good for road running.... but did you buy some more treks for the fell running? My KSO Treks are dying and I need to get something for Snowdon!
Nice to relax and watch a race for a change this morning! Pretty warm but a nice breeze on the tops - I watched the final climb coming up to Moel Gamelin (must be a good mile and a half from the Ponderosa - phew!) - Ifan was well in control of the race. Gilbert stopped to look at the view and John Hunt sneaked past him. Andrea was well ahead for the ladies and in second place Claire Riley and Becky Law were having a bit of a tussle.
Very Hot running conditions, after months of snow, ice and rain running. Thanks Martin haha!! sure my face told a different story of being in controll :-)
Really good course is this, the first climb sorts out the field straight away, then the survivors of the first climb battle it out over the 4 other climbs with positions changing on all the climbs and descents. It's a question of who has it for the last big climb and the long descent. quite a tacticall course.
Gutted I went lost in the last mile and half, but should of known better after last year haha!!
Awsome prize again, really posh set of dinner plates. Gave last year's away as wedding gift, but these are mine!!hehehe!
Many thanks to all involved again, brilliant event
I'm glad you were relaxed, Martin! As I said (or gasped) to you as I went past I must get it out of my head that this is an easy one! I only counted (or remembered counting) three climbs last year! Where did those others come from???? But a beautiful day for a trot.
Cheers for the water wh it was needed.
Great video from Peter Douglas -
