Yo DJ not sure now...a few of us are staying at Pooley Bridge for the weekend for some R & R, but they're trying to decide what to do on the evening (i'm suggesting they watch me kill myself at the race then hang around for the presentation and then the ceilidh but................
What is the email address on the info sheet for enquiries about camping? If any one has got it to hand can you let me know........don't have my sheet with me.
Cheers
Tim
[email protected] hope that helps tim, see you guys up there.
I think our club are on a different campsite just a couple of mile away. Should be a great weekend.
Will the great Holmsie win it again?
erm.......bailey, rob hope and jebby in that order
Ladies, Maddams or Jackson what ever she is called, Helen Fines, Emma Clayton
Just been discussing this down Lakes Runner - my prediction:
1 - Holmes
2 - Jebb
3 - Rob Hope
Ladies:
1 - Maddams
2 - Lizzie Adams DkPk
3 - Walwyn
And myself to run under 1.20...?
1. Jebby- if he gets away on the climb
1. Holmsey-if he is anywhere near at the top of the Old Man, he will gain 4/5 minutes on the decent.
1. Donnelly- if he can hang with Jebby on the climb and not have Holmsey anywhere near him at the top of the Old Man. May find 3 P's still in his legs from last week though.
2. Simon Booth- all depends where he is at the top.
3. Simon Bailey- Though could be number 2. Hes got a lot to prove after Noonstone.
I heard that Hope thinks he can win....errrrm not sure on this course with the decent.
Jebby
Bailey
R.hope
Holmsey
D.hope
Donnelly
Olivia (Walwyn) has been recceing. I know its not her type of course, but she'll have such a big lead on the Old Man, don't count her out.
No-one's mentioned the Brit champs leader yet! So I reckon Andy Symonds might be up there, and Lloyd.
Lloyd is hoping to do well. GO ON LLOYD!
camcorder at Coniston...'opin' forra dry day...hmmm?...

Holmsey won- Top man.
Battle for 2nd from D Hope, R Hope and Morgan Donnelly.
Didnt see who got it but Morgan was on a charge chasing.
Jebby & Taggett battling for 5th
Bailey bit further back.
Recoverng from cold else Holmsey might have had a run for his money!
Seriously tho, a great win, hats off to him, an awesome athlete, and all 'round good egg.
i have done this race for the first time and just battled to try and beat two hours.
top course but god knows what paths i used coming off old man.
As i joined back in on the right route one runner shouted "cheeky bugger" at me thinking i had taken some short cut through the mines. yes mate.... i am into cliff jumping....Doh!!
Enjoyed that, especially the cooling hail shower. 2 minutes better than last time despite taking crap line off the summit. Tripping over my own big feet didn't help either, will have some impressive bruises tomorrow. Why didn't someone tell me I had mud all over my chin? Thanks mates! No wonder I got some funny looks when I went shopping afterwards.
Race pics are online at Sportsunday site.

Just about as good conditions as you could get today.
He was at least 2 minutes behind the leaders on the ascent to Swirl How at Prison Band...about 10th at that point. Mind you I did see him carrying a parachute in his backpack:D
I managed to get some decent video footage but unfortunately missed the second bunch of leaders ascending Swirl How.
Interesting to watch the final steep descents off the Old Man, Rob and Danny Hope appeared first taking the direct route straight down to the right of the mines but Holmsey popped up out of nowhere from the main path and joined about 100yds or so in front of them. I wonder if he went straight off the top then veered back onto the main path just below the mines.
Great to see Holmesy win. Shows the sport is not just about huff and puff but also technique, bravery and guile. All qualities I failed to demonstrate today , although I was pleased with my time.
Must be the prototype zip wire..................
Yes that was pretty much it. Completely gutted!- instead of going to the Ceilidh I ended up Kendal A & E having 4 stitches in my chin. Had really enjoyed it up to that point. Ah well, I'll be back...
Thanks to the people who asked if I was ok, and sorry I blanked most people at the finish- I blame the concussion!
Brilliant race, anyone know when the results are up?
