There you go Cantona! The route doesn't look that easy to find either!!!! :D

I'll be there :)
TBH, I'm mostly looking froward to the various food stations as I've heard great things about the chocolate cake. And I like any race in which I can seamlessly and invisibly blend into the walking class ... ;)
First time for me. Everybody says it's a cracking route.
It's all miles in the bag:p
I'm dithering over this one.
Should I or shouldn't I?
Okay I'm in*
*I did seek permission first :D
Deejay has entered as well now. I think it was the promise of beef dripping butties at CP3 that finally swayed him like :D
Which checkpoint is giving out the "special" stuff?
Well I best stay away from the beef dripping so I've put in a special request to the organisers for ryvita and cottage cheese at CP3 :D
Marmite is 'special' stuff:cool:
Reccied this a couple of weeks ago with "Toddies" - its a good un for sure. no chance of getting cold.
'Special food' is served in the woodwork shop. If we're very lucky we might even get some stollen. We did a couple of years ago I seem to recall. That's an even better dripping-chaser than malt loaf. Mmmm, marzipan. It'll be settled nicely by the Menzolit factory.
I remember the stollen too - brilliant stuff! I hope it's there again.
A report on current weather conditions can be found on the event website at www.alangreenwood.biz/index.html The short route underfoot is passable and we are looking at possible diversions to avoid the impassable snowdrifts on the latter part of the long route. A further bulletin will be issued in 7 days time.
Feedback from Forumites welcomed.
Looks like you might have a lot of people on the short route then?! Do hope it goes ahead - we'll respect what ever decision you make. Nightmare time!
I'd much prefer any alternative to the canal route back (other than the road of course). Some hills please!
How about using MOUNTAIN MAN's Calder Valley Round finish instead? I'd imagine that'll be reasonably drift-free (apart from the short section in the gully maybe). We'd still do the bit over the shoulder of Stoodley Pike to CP4, but then head back to Mytholmroyd, shortening the run to about 15 miles.
Thanks for all your efforts, Alan. We'll be grateful for whatever you are able to put on for us. If it goes ahead in some form it will be the first one this year that won't have been postponed as far as I'm concerned.
parked up at start/finish today and ran on the road to Callis Bridge to do second half.Ice on Stodley and a few big snowdrifts but nothing to bad.......flags coming off the moor and through woods were appreciated.
Surprised how tough the route was...harder than the Yorkshireman and took us 4 hours to do 18ish miles......loads of tracks I've not done before and enjoyed the run.
Recce'd this a few weeks back, and the route is a corker:D. Sorry to miss it but one of our best club races now clashes as it was postponed from December due to snow causing problems getting to the start.
Enjoy folks:)
Hi Alan. Any update on ground conditions?
Hopefully things are significantly better than they were this time last week.
