Is there any results fo the cautley spout race yet?
Fell End Clouds
[QUOTE=morning glory;108759]Looks like Austwick to me!
Similar limestone terrain but better access and no parking problems.
Fraser Livesey of Howgill Harriers is the event's guest course planner. All I know is that the courses are on Fell End Clouds and do not go up Wild Boar. We leave that to Gary Devine later in the month.
Expect fast racing.

DOG OWNERS...please take note...
as it sez on the KWL fixture list....
"PLEASE DO NOT BRING DOGS TO THE RACES"
This is especially important at Austwick as the sheep are heavy in lamb and respect must be given to the farmers/landowners who give permission...and the organisers too.
Also;
Parking will be an issue now that entries have increased so if you can park sensibly in Austwick and walk to the start it will take a lot of pressure off the narrow lane. Admittedly it's a fair distance to walk but there is a more pleasant direct route through the fields from Town Head Lane. Have a look at yer OS maps.
Could anyone tell me what the junior prizes are (for taking part in 5 events or more)?
My son has done 4 but is talking about missing Elterwater!
Are the Austwick results imminent by any chance....? :)
No worries H. Thanks for all your efforts with the KWL - it's a superb series.
(PS- 'scuse my impatience :o )
Austwick results
and Elterwater results too

Thanks to all 352 runners of all ages who took part this year.
RETIREMENT (THE LEGS HAVE FALLEN OFF):D
For those who don't know I stood down as chairman of Helm Hill at last nights AGM after 3 years in post (about all anyone can take!!) and have handed over to Tim Murray.
I will however be at the Arant Haw race to shout at you as starter, and if I can ever get fit again I will be joining you all on the start line in next years WL.
Move to thread on Arant Haw Race, which is run under FRA race rules. I think this could be a future English championship AS. What do you think?
Best wishes, have a good summer and thanks to you all.
The race list for 2009 is here:

Which of these would be recomended? Looking for short classic fell races, not trails, good descents, steep ascents stuff.
Thinking of coming up to the lakes and combing Blakes Heaven and Fairmile on the Sunday?
Would they be worth a trip from North Wales for?
Fairmile is about the best of the lot and definately worth a trip. A classic Howgill up and down. Hope to see you there. You'll not believe there could be such a good race completely in view from the M6.
Cheers, wifes just come back from the physio and has been told she may have a stress fracture in her foot putting her out for a few months, if she is I doubt she'll be interested in getting away to those so may give them a miss. Would work well though to combine Fairmile with a Tebay Race recce.
Sorry to hear about the stress fracture.
As Harry says, Fairmile is a classic. Last year there was a 30 mph frozen hoolie blowing up the Howgills which made for a very memorable race.

Kendal Winter League - Fell End Clouds
Sunday 8th Feb
The Fell End Clouds race is in doubt because of laying snow which is making the course treacherous. There will be a stewards’ enquiry on Friday and the result posted on www.helmhillrunners.co.uk. Please consult the website before travelling to the race.
Thanks
Tim Murray
Helm Hill Chairman

I've decided to cancel it and I thought you should be the first to know.
The snow on the paths is ankle to knee deep, and deeper off the path. Plus the parking is not available due to the drifts.
I'll confirm what this means for the number of counting races later.
Please pass the message on
Thanks
Alastair
Sensible thing to do Alastair..may have been a problem for people getting there, not least of all with the parking issues as well.
Roll on the next one.
Will
Just another reminder that tomorrow's Fell End Clouds race has been cancelled.
