Ob1, I had a massage at the end of the race when the crowds had died down.
Grouse. I've had a cuppa now. Ah. That's better.

Great race, many thanks to the organisers and marshals.
Thanks Charlie and the rest of the Glossopdale. It's a lovely race, very slow for me this year - first run in a month, should've picked an easier one!!!!
cracking race, still had Hadrian's Wall in my legs so very slow (so slow i stopped to admire the view and take a pic at the end!)
but thanks to Glossopdale and the marshalls who braved the elements to support and show us the way
First time for me to day, I watched the 2010 champs race and wanted to run the race it last year but was injured, so can I say it was well worth the wait!!! what a brill decent!! Thanks to the ROs and those poor marshalls! Will be back next year defo!
As said by other.....
Many thanks to Charlie & the Glossopdale Team, seemless organisation (what did those highlighted colours really mean:wink:), "Classic" conditions on the Hill, superb marshalling by a top team!!! Probably the clagiest of clag I can remember on this race, still a bit over-warm for me.... and I'm sure many were delighted by the marker flags ....
Thanks again
i'm sure one of the marker flags said 'Radioactive - Do Not Open'!!
That would be my fault. Bill needed to make some new flags a couple of years ago and I brought some spare lovely bright red bags home from work for him to use. Unfortunately he didn't remove the hazard warning from some of the flags. But at least you could see the flags, and I have checked and they don't glow in the dark!
Sad to have missed it again this year. I'd been looking forward to it.
Sounds like much fun was had by all.
Well done to everyone who took part in the race,
Some photos taken at Dog Rock are currently uploading to http://flic.kr/s/aHsjHTVxJN.
Much better conditions than last year.
Great race today, my first time. Perfect conditions and very nice malteser cake afterwards. Many thanks to Charlie, the team and the marshals.
Some photos here, well done everyone
Here are the results for today's race. Great turnout, with the race in Pennine and Wilmslow champs.

Thanks to all the marshals and helpers.
As ever, a brilliantly organised race. Thanks to the marshalls, and to everyone for not getting lost.
Indeterminably long race blog here... http://testedtodestruction.blogspot....race-2013.html
actually, its not too long this time.
Well raced Stefan - I didn't see you from the beginning. you're properly flying at the moment!
ooo a DSQ, lack of kit, cheeky/Dangerous monkey!
Very impressive from Tindersticks and Stefan, both moving up through the field!
looking forward to getting back into the peaks racing scene in a few weeks time!...
I was fortunate or maybe unfortunate to be at the Trig marshalling on todays race, it was so windy which really helped the Snake Hill Climb (bike) over yonder to a course record and six 13 minute and under times. For me and my little dog it was bloody freezing, she couldn't even bark encouragement. I saw a couple of tumbles and fortunately they were unscathed.
I also witnessed and nearly left my post in anger to chase.... someone blatently cut the corner although he could see everybody cutting off right to follow the flags to the Trig, one runner behind him followed but corrected his line, does he know who it was? It was annoying to watch him join the descending line of runners missing out a good half a kilometre, I would have definitely put him back on course.
Also the winner was disqualified for not carrying kit. I can assure you all it was cold up there.
Otherwise a great event, by the time I got back to the hut, all festivities had ceased.
Nice write-up as ever 'Thomas' (and there was me thinking it was 'Taylor') and well fought for that placing. The funniest bit for me was marshalling the first gate. I thought I had the flock of sheep well sorted out; they were over the far side of the field before the runners came into view. Then after about three-quarters of the runners had gone through the gate about 50-100 sheep sprinted down the hill towards the open gate. I must have looked rather comical trying to allow the last runners through whilst trying to shoo the sheep back. A few sheep got through - thanks to the sweepers (Two men and a dog - Tom, Neil and Bessie in her lovely GDH coat) for herding them back into the field for me in record time.
Really enjoyed today's race, brilliant underfoot running conditions. The peaty moorland is a joy to run across when it's got the 'bounce'. Well done local lad Chris Jackson, he's flying at the moment. Thanks to all involved, just wish I had stayed around instead of rushing off to run Bradley fell at 3pm.
Ah, its that time again.

Time to practise my sheep herding skills again on the run-out through the fields. Gate 2 duties this year.
I'm on kit checks and sweeping duties....see you all there with the correct kit!!
It looks like there's going to be a lot of people from the inter-club fell race competition with Spectrum Striders RC, Helsby RC, Pensby Runners and Tattenhall Runners, where there's a message about windproof body cover. Don't forget to bring along full FRA kit (waterproof full bodycover, etc.) just in case, as you should for any fell race.
Should be good weather tomorrow, so hopefully won't have to make people carry it.
Charlie.
Can't believe I won the raffle - for the kit check! Passed without question, but did see one gent en-route with a bum bag no bigger than a money wallet! If he had coat and trousers in there then they must have been wind proof - for a baby ;-)
Great race, though that climb went on forever. Even the decent seemed further than I expected, but thoroughly enjoyed it. Great organisation, great marshalling (cheers all!) and grand as owt cakes and brews in real mugs at the end - what more do you want?
Thanks for a great race. Blimey, that climb went on a bit! Thanks to all marshals, helpers, etc :)
Glad you enjoyed to race, kit requirements were for windproof top and bottoms so the guy with the small bumbag had plenty of room for the correct kit....i know cos I checked him. Given the size of bag I made him get them out to show me they were what was claimed, and they were.
Results here.
Great race, really enjoyed it.

I have added a few photos from near James Thorn on the link below. It was a good day out on the hill and plenty of smiling faces despite the position on the climb!
