Just for extra info...
On that map you can't tell where the start and finish routes are, which is why there's a link from the page Multiterrainer posted, to "Map of start & finish", which makes it clear.
Happy trogging. :)
Finally posted it off today. ooeh (shudder).
Entered this last week. Do Calder Valley update their site with entry lists?
Could be wrong, but don't think so, best thing to do is send an email to the organiser [email protected];)
Cheers ML.
Have just started training properly again and am building up miles.
I have an entry to Rombalds stride LDW on the same day, its further, but easier terrain and a lot of KCAC members are doing it so it will give me a chance to see where I am against people. However though it is a total sod I love the trog, what should I do?
Not if have to wear pink. Thankyou for the offer though, you may find I slow you up. I will be lucky to get anywhere near 4.5 hours this year.
I can make exeptions to the pink wearing! You may even find I myself opt for a fetching shade of blue!
No idea what time I've expecting/hoping for. I doubt you would slow me down however I appreciate your concern.
No doubt you will make the right decision....happy training.
No doubt I will be mithering till the last minute and then regret whatever choice I make.
I will be however at stanbury splash on sun, so if you are there it would be nice to put a face to the name and that goes for all forumites I have not said hello or been abusive to :)
Had a reply confirming my place and this was added...
Entry list will be available soon.
:)
Many thanks. I will keep checking the CVFR website
Hi all
the entry lists for the races are up on the cvfr website, although there is a small technical problem at the moment.
We have not cashed any cheques, if your entry got to Thirza by Monday then you have a place in the race, but they are now both FULL.
The weather is going to give an additional challenge.
The access to Old Town and the parking around the village is very limited, with snow on the ground it can become near impossible.
Can I ask all runners to ensure that they check the CVFR website across thursday and friday. Latest updates will be posted there.
Can I also ask that you car share as much as possible so that the impact on the village is kept to a minimum.
many thanks
Ben
The entry lists should be available now.
See link from www.cvfr.co.uk
I'm in, I hope tis weather eases up eh? Gulp!
I'm in too, hope its not cancelled, looking forward to it, why is Clash City Rocker not down for the full trog:confused:
Just noticed on the entry list, my fellow pony Marcel is down as a lady:eek:
He's never behaved very ladylike in my prescence;):D
He's not tempted to run in a wig and compete for a ladies prize is he?
If not, I'll make sure he's correct in the registration details & results, since I'm setting the database up on Friday.
Is Marcel a vet? If he fancies running as an LV70 I reckon we can more-or-less guarantee a category prize. :D
Hi all
The snow is lying deep on the moors out to High Brown Knoll at the moment, Rob, Andy and I were thigh deep a few times when placing clippers down at CP2 last night.
There is more snow forecast for Thursday though lighter than monday and Tuesday.
Please keep a look at www.cvfr.co.uk for any other information nearing the weekend, if you know anyone who doesn't have internet access, you could keep them in the loop, and if you can car spare if at all possible it would be really appreciated.

I know this is the ultimate "how long is a piece of string" question but have you any idea when you are likely to take a call on whether the race goes ahead assuming a better forecast after tomorrow? It can be very changeable. Up here in Edinburgh Tuesday was supposed to be worse than the day before and all the snow had melted by 10am that morning !! I very much appreciate that the conditions for the marshals is probably the determining factor.
Cheers

I was going to go for the full beast but training seemed to drop of over a few weeks around the end of last year although I cant quite put my finger on why!!!!!! so then targeted the half in the vague hope that I could tame that smaller but equally vicious beast but then.................
I just didnt get round to getting the form in and then my Innov8s fell apart and the dog was ill I was ill you name it I will use it as an excuse.
Good luck to you sir.
Didn't bottle training last night, i was working till 6.30 and his mum couldn't bring him;)
Reluctantly decided to cancel (I was persuaded but when I got to MCC it was almost impossible to stand up so it was the right thing to do) but then only had 2 kids to turn away anyway
Snow report anyone?!
its having another go in Leeds
Went out on a fab, snowy bat run last night on the moors just a few miles from Trog country. Lots of laying snow, mostly with a crusty frozen layer on top. Drifting to about three feet in places. Bloody gorgeous!
Snowing again around here this morning, roads seem ok.
I presume it’s similar around Ilkey/Guiseley way? Anybody? How cold are my feet going to get at Rombald’s?
