Looking forward to the forthcoming race!
Surprisingly, this year, I have a couple of club-members interested in coming up to run!!
Is anyone going from Harrogate? I'm looking for a lift if possible... Thanks
A very interesting race, with the amended course, up on Baildon Hill/Hope Hill
I did feel like I was a target, albeit a slow moving one, due to wearing number '1'
There did seem to be a far greater than normal turn-out for the race!
Great little event. Bit tight for the first half mile, with plenty of pushing/shoving and tasty cross words.
When the race got going it was a great little event.
Well done Jebby, he beat me to the top of the first hill carrying his bike and proceeded to go on and win the race.
Will be back for another crack at this one.
Can anyone confirm or deny the mileage.
I spoke to a cyclist who had covered over 6m but my Garmin said only 5.49m.
Many thanks
Wish I'd made this now (having been umming and ahhing for so long) but still being wary about racing due to recovering from bruised ribs.
Anyway in answer to your question Stagger a friend's strava reading made it 5.5 miles (and 839ft ascent) so pretty much the same as your mileage.

after looking at pictures looks like missed a good race have to pencil this down for next year
Looking forward to this and a few beers around Bingley afterwards. Got someone's rear cycle wheel in the mush last time !! hopefully no repeat this time !
I did this last year and it's different.
Like LR says when a bike is over a shoulder the wheels are all over.
One must be disciplined because testosterone is in the air.
Laugh it off and enjoy your outing.
Just so those people that don't know the registration and prize giving is now at the Bradford & Bingley Sports Club on Wagon Lane, Bingley. Further info can be found here. Hope to see you all there.
I *might* have a run out. I've never done this
Do it. It's a great event.
I've not done a race since Fells and Bells
Do I remember 2008. A terrible hangover and just nipping in front of breezie....
Mind you I think he lost his bike
n + 1 - 1 ;)
F & B was wonderful
Need a repeat..
Club tart
V60??
In 1950
I didn't see the Tup mister unless he was the one with the cool shades and fancy bike.
Well done all who slogged round the course.
After few years of running it I decided to cycle (got a cx bike this year). What epic fun it was,but bloody hard work !
Well done to Tom Adams & Annabel Mason first Harriers home in Harriers V Cyclists enjoy set 1 of photos on http://woodentops.org.uk/index.php…
I felt sorry for the cyclists this year. Some of the bits they had to dismount on were almost flat, but just too boggy to cycle through. In the end, I was narrowly beaten by Ted Mason - I doubt I've ever say that again.
Thanks to the organisers. I enjoyed this and may be back again next year - hopefully with a bit more fitness.
That was a novelty - my first time - brilliant race. The 1.5 hour drive there was worth it. It's not often you have to keep your eyes up as well as down on the climbs (to avoid head-butting a rear wheel). I was very impressed by the gentlemanly conduct throughout with everyone watching / listening / calling out warnings from behind as necessary. Runners kept to the sides on the descents wherever possible to let the cyclists through.
I took well over 200 photos. They'll get added to the large collections already on-line when I've finished sorting the wheat from the chaff. It was good to see the Woodentops and Sportsunday out on the course, as well as plenty of other 'snappers'. The support from marshals and spectators was impressive and much appreciated. Most of you did look frozen, though.
Link to my photos in the thick of the action is here.
There were plenty of other photographers on-course as well. Here are the links I'm aware of that are accessible:
