Many thanks Ian....I hung around after for a bit but the kids were getting tired and we had to head off....

Shan't be at Moel Eilio, I'm afraid......not enough training as evidenced last night.....not sure my run in the lakes on sunday did me much favours but I'd a ball....thanks for the shout last night, and sure have the beers on me...not literally of course!

I don't feel like the man at the moment Amex.....will see you on 27th though at some stage hopefully.....i hear we're all looking forward to watching THE MASTER suffer

can't wait! i have to babysit his wife and kids during the day as well that will be fun ice cream b4 a trot on the fells, i keep asking for the list but no one will send it to me, i am getting a bit worried!

Yes I was looking to do this as I know the area quite well but it was already full by the time I'd found out about it! Doing Wharfedale Offroad Marathon 7th June instead. Next year I will be more organised now that I know when and where races are held! ;)

I dont know about that one, any details? 14thJune is Swaley and its offroad also. Actually helping on a BG attempt 6th/7th June so no chance anyway.To enter S.M. you have to get an entry early in Jan from the Swaledale outdoor club very quickly. What is your next race MG?

Did Ripon 10 miler Sunday just gone. That was a nice route, very undulating but not 'hilly' as I heard some runners mention afterwards!
Will be jealous of you all at Fairfield on Saturday!
Going to try to get to the Ossy Oiks on 3rd June if I can get away from work a bit earlier that night! Then it's the Wharfedale.
(not brave enough yet for the Duddon!)

Instead of Fairfield ,doing the donkey bit on leg3 for some guys from Bristol, Nee Bother is also there, should be fun. Will have to check dates for Lyke wake.

Hi Merrylegs, I was in an apartment in Coniston at Thurston House http://www.jefferson99.freeserve.co.uk/

Would like to get over for Duddon even if I just do the itsy bitsy teensy weeny race. But there's no public transport in the valley which scuppers me unless I can persuade someone to go from Newcastle or to pick me up from a Rail Station somewhere.

When I go climbing there I always camp at Turner Hall Farm which is about 5 min walk from the Newfield Inn. It's a basic but very nice campsite. Wallabarrow Farm has a bunkhoose (Geordie accent coming through there!) http://www.wallabarrow.co.uk/

Thought it was November on Whernside yesterday...no views up there... and freezing! But the ground was the driest I've seen it...nice and bouncy over the non existent boggy bits...fab!
Then... hot chocolate fudge cake in The Crown!!! :D

So was your latest 3 peaks do a race or was it for the fun of it?

Ate the last of me carrot cake after the Caw Fell Race and couldn't find any more in Coniston:eek: I was out running or walking everyday so I'm confident of getting revenge for Guisborough next time we meet:D

That's the sort of coaching advice I like. but back in reality, doing my local club's 10k road/trail race on Wednesday, feel sort of obliged to really as it goes right past my front door. Would come up on Friday, probably take the day off. Could get train to Oxenholme/Windermere or a place called Foxfield which is on the coast at the bottom of the duddon valley
