Cheers TF, it was more a case of The Ben doing me! I see your entry is in for The Hebden, so see you there if not before.

A great race as usual and nice conditions, dry underfoot which meant I could descend rapid on the rocks. I died a bit on the grassy bank and couldn't stay with iain r. Literally fell into the burn on the way down and cut my leg but apart from that I pushed onto the finish and the welcome sight of the gate as you enter the field. Nice to see loads of forumites and good friends. 1 second away from a sub 1 .50 but the Ben never gives you an easy run. My favourite race . Only an 800 mile round journey but I don't care. Tired now but will take badger for his run tomorrow. Can't wait till next year.
Really enjoyed my first Ben. Recognised a few formiters and bloggers, with great looks of concentration, as they hurled down the scree slopes in a shower of stones. The grassy slope has destroyed my quads. I was all over the place after that. I think I would consider going round next time, even if it takes a bit longer, at least there would be more left in the legs for the rest of the descent and the road.
Well done to everyone.
well done all, better weather than last year but i was ten minutes slower.
i suffered horribly on descent , loved the scree ,bum slid on the steep grassy bits, bonked on the stone path. died afterwards ...still looking forward to next year when i will be Ben fit.
Is the key to the Categories that appear on the results published anywhere? Have searched the race web site & can't find it there but that could be incompetence on my part.
Hey Phil, we both suffered suprises this year eh, I was also slower than last year and bonked shortly after I saw you on the path. :o Mission for next september: get Ben fit and then suffer even more on race day.
Today, I'm aching more than last year but still buzzing from the race. Well done big Phil.
Thanks Mark, I didn't buy one ]-:
