Graham I haven't seen any of those so I'll look for them on Amazon. Have you seen the silent movie Siegfried (Dir Fritz Lang) Graham? I haven't but I have read that it is a great artistic achievement. I'll see if I can get that as well.

Silent running. Classic (and with Joan on the soundtrack)
starting in 10 minutes on Film 4
Alfie
[the original, not the unnecessary remake]
Immortals..from the team that brought you 300. Mickey Rourke was watchable but that's about all. They didn't even have a War Rhino like they had in 300  A bit of a CGI heavy hodge podge really and it certainly wasn't Sparta!
Immortals sounds daft, I'll probably love it.
tonight's Slug Top 250 DVD Presentation was City Of God - glittering piece of cinema
finished just in time for Tyrannosaur on Film 4 - not sure I'm in the right mood - might just tape it...
J. Edgar. Produced and directed by Clint Eastwood. Now I know why it was only a fiver.....
From Russia With Love. £3 in HMV. Bought it to see how it stood up against Skyfall.
Well, it's a period piece now. Dated, hackneyed, slow in parts and a very slight story. But Connery is a magnetic screen presence and Robert Shaw is great. And, yes, the fight in the train retains its power because it is believable fighting, like a major scrap in the school yard. In most modern scraps, the protagonists would be dead or unable to carry on after the first round!
