Very easy 4 mile jog today, Ian Roberts FR tomorrow
Couple of hours 'round Stoodly Pike, shotblasted by hailstone and a parking fine after leaving me van near Bird in Hand on Tod road, they did another nine cars an all......always thought you had to be parked on the road for yellow lines to be enforceable.......
Walk to Ell and back, but ran a bit of it. 30 miles/4300ft 5hrs 55mins. Like John Doe got shotblasted by hailstone on Rishworth Moor and had to use all my old army skills to outflank 3 Gandalf Geese that said "You shall not pass" 3 miles from the end, after staying reasonably clean, fell in the biggest bog i could find, headfirst.
Excellent day out, free pie and peas at the end and the Guinness was only £2.40 a pint in the clubhouse where i used to play rugby and had my wedding night do, brought back some memories, not all of em good:D
4 mile recovery run, no shakes back was stiff though which it always is after a long run.
Back to proper training tommorrow
8 miles with sbrt. Circular route from Longnor taking in Chrome hill. Rain and snow - great stuff - a hidden gem.
Second Sunday in a row that I've done about 15 miles. Difference this week was that I was on the canal bank and managed a total of 300' climbing, against last weeks 2800' !!
Running for 1hr 45 along the canal in one direction is a bit mind numbingly tedious!
Decided to try my luck on the cross trainer at the gym today
I set it for half an hour and nailed a hill session. Really worked my calves trying to get that 'end of race, calves dont work anymore' feeling.
Knees a little sore tonight but i have had work as well so that may be the reason.
May be a good rehab for me - fingers crossed.
