Wow what a day:D
Went out with Marvin from snake Inn to do a 'fun' long run.
The plan was to do a mix of the best bits of the dozen (in reverse A/C) and the Killer taking in the whole plateau with about 8-9 climbs.
So we went as far ar Gindslow knoll, the route being strangly different running it in reverse from there we missed the flesh pots of Edale by taking a 'direct-ish' route across the valley to just west of Hartshorn we followed this to Druids stone and then took the plunge to the YH and then pretty much followed the Killer route.
although the breeze was cool we were in sunshine all day and it was very hot with the only cloud way out over Manchester. We took it relatively easy and sunned our selves once or twice to admire the views which were extensive.:D
A top day with good company. one of the best of the year so far( sorry Nik:o)
Andy will be along shortly I'm sure with all the stats but what a day...
My guess 20 miles 6-7,000ft?
Bit embarrassed now after Ian and Marvin's Peakland epic to post my training but here goes - 4miles on Dales Way with a couple of 'Friday efforts' :)
I agree Ian, TOP DAY - an excellent route in good company. I'm sunburnt - didn't think to grease up:(.
Wildlife in abundance including a couple of hares that were starting to lose their winter coats.
21.3 miles, 7500ft ascent.
I made it a Kinder 8.5, the half being the ascent from Grindsbrook.
Thanks for a great day out.
Ian, was I dreaming or did I see you in Howarth last weekend? ;) Some weeks running you've had! Sounds a proper grand day out today
