Happy New Year....and its Quiet Around Here!
Back in the office today
:sneaky: What was wrong with yesterday Alf? Hmmmm.
I am back in my old job, which I left in December 2009 for a 12 month contract in London. I was worried I would be climbing the walls again after 3 months (as much as I like it here, it doesn't provide my brain with much action). I am climbing the walls after day 1 :o
Started back here today as well.
Ah well, only two more days till weekend! :)
All the roads round my house were black ice this morning. I thought at first I had a puncture when the steering was all over the place so I stopped the car got out and ended up on my backside on the ice :w00t:
Could do with some of that round here really. I'm running out of excuses for being late.
WFH while car is being sorted out. A Blue tit has just bounced off the window :w00t: It seemed to recover ok and has flown away now though.
A real pea-souper out there today.
It reminds me of those past times when we had regular smogs. Going to school with your scarf wrapped round your mouth and bouts of bronchitis. Happy days :w00t:
Just returned from Poland and Germany managing to pick up a cold somewhat resembling bronchitis!
Car starting problems this morning. Ended up browsing Internet for possible solutions and bingo on the road again. Don't you just love tinternet!:D
Oh no wait :o
I had a game of Bullshi* Bingo at work on Monday :D I had two hits in the first sentence of the American guy doing the presentation!

Love it Alf!!! Oh how I wish we had utilised these Bingo cards for the speech by the ugly man at the top the week before last! Although I can't see "simplicity workstream" on there.... (Fooks sake, what a to$$er ).
Not very QAH. Hotel reception keep phoning up asking if I want an 'Ayurvedic massage' :closed:
A what-where DT?
Bloody cold out there on my lunchtime run. I am still wearing the shorts and T-Shirt I was wearing during the slightly milder spell a couple of weeks ago - whoops, need another layer next time :closed:
Didn't help that I had to adopt a strange smoothe non-jiggley style of running, trying not to move my head around too much, so as not to mess up my new hair do :sneaky:
Well it's quiet here in Aus and about time for a cup of coffee, before heaading out to the friends swimming pool. Mustn't forget the sunscreen as we've arrived in a heatwave - and I'm not complaining after our winter .
Staying with friends at Port Macquirie, middle of the East Coast, very pleasant and civilised. They can't comprehend winters of -17c, when it has never, ever hit 0c here. Think jogging might have me sweating the first few days!!
Arrived last night after 48hrs of travelling, but great and weird being other side of the world in mid summer.
Just tried to access that Police website and get the lowdown on the area crime rate - laptop has gone very quiet now :w00t:
So much for getting an early night! I was supposed to finish at 11:00! Looks like I'm the only mug still up.
Weekend?? Spent yesterday DIYing, then Open Uni-ing, then fixing a friend's laptop... Today? Back in work.... :sneaky: Weekend, schmeekend.
I have got a noo job
Whoop whoop!
Very exciting, part of a brand new team, in a brand new building, working with some of my favourite people who I've worked with on previous temporary projects with in the past.
Down side is it's not a promotion, but the prospects are much better than my current job and they reckon my experience means I might be able to move up soon if all goes well :D
Hey well done OHW! That's great news :)
All the best in your new position OHW.
Get in there OneHill, Well Done and Good Luck:thumbup:
Fantastic Karen! Well done!
Well done OHW:thumbup: - still in Nott'nam?
Nope, in the grim North West
Congrats on new job!
North West rules! :)
Thanks ukhursty, thanks everyone else :D
Just need to sell my Nottingham house now... And as much as I have dreams of a nice little cottage in the Peak District, so that my other half can commute the other way to Derby, we shall have to see what pennies we can scrape together. Too soon to tell where we will live but hopefully a little closer to some hills
