I always found the exterminator hard but I think that's because it's all runnable which was never my strong point! A fun race though due to all the route choices. Not quite sure how the course was measured to find the stated ascent figured though...

Quite a few of us have thought of this :D

Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
If it were to be in the Lakes it would make it an almost entirely Lake District championship. I think it should be Edale re-scheduled. All the planning and hard work can be re-done and the team are determined to put on a good show.

Duddon clashes with Yetholm
Ennerdale's too close to Yetholm and Buckden
Great Lakes was last year
Bradda is on the IOM
Buttermere is the first year
Wasdale's already in
Holme Moss clashes
Borrowdale was last year
Howtown isn't organised by a club so might not want it
Sedbergh Hills - Could be
Exterminator - Could be. But I don't think it's regarded as "felly" enough - sorry Totley :)
Three Shires - too close after Peris
IOM Mountain - it's on the IOM
Langdale - Could be
Tour of Pendle - too late to award prizes?
Pretty much the same logic I used Noel, though I didn't think it would be Sedbergh as it was the week after Turner Landscape. A double English/British I didn't consider so Peris would be a candidate in that case.

I agree entirely with this.

I was thinking that Peris would be a good one to use and particularly as it will be in many peoples schedule already this year

Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Competitors will have had an email in the last couple of days via the sportident system.
It contains instructions of how you can donate your partial refund to Edale MRT. If you choose to.
If not refunds will be heading back (in small batches, so we dont crash the e-commerce sytem) in the second half of April.
It's very easy to do and is the only way to do this as I can't process them individually
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
This years race will now be on Sunday 29th September. Entries will open on 31st July via www.sientries.co.uk
Partial refunds will be sorted by sientries (looks like this may already be being dealt with) and I will total up the donations to Edale mrt - it will be WELL over £1000
The refund will go back on to the card registered with them.

Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Is it a Champs race this time Ian?
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Ian, I notice that you say entries open on the 31st, and the homepage says 1st of July. Am I correct that it is the latter, as that was your intention after the postponement of the original race.
Fair play to you for agreeing to the hard work of all the new organisation. Good luck.

Dark peak page says 31st.

Great news, thanks for going ahead and re-organising! Better get training...

My mistake, wrongly transcribed. It's 31st July that entries open.

That's a shame as it clashes now with the MMM weekend http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/t...gebit/sad2.gif

I see it was announced on Friday on the FRA homepage that it is.

The Edale Skyline race, rescheduled for Sunday 29th September, will be the other "long counter" in this year's English Championship. See Dark Peak Website for new entry procedure and further details.
The Championship committee would like to thank Ian and Dark Peak for their exceptional efforts to stage the race and for their cooperation on it's inclusion in the Championship.

Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
I am no doubt being stupid here but I thought entries opened today, what have I missed?
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Yes it is a bit slow isn't it. Interestingly on Dark Peaks site this morning it says entries open today 'technology permitting'. May mean they are having some issues.

It's OK it is not only you being stupid. Steady Fast took his laptop to bed and got up early.
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
That's as stupid as staying up till midnight and then getting up early :o
What's more, when I start to trundle across Brown Knoll I'll be asking myself why the hell I entered the thing in the first place!
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
...and so the hype starts again only this time we can discuss which factor sun cream to use and what brand of sunglasses are best for keeping the dust out of eyes. :D
If any one fancies coming along to help marshal it would be appreciated as some of the usual suspects are going to some cycle race in the dales...

Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Entries open. Not sure if it was a problem with my computer but the page had 'No' next to Edale Skyline and AL races which I couldn't alter. My entry therefore looks like I've never run anything! Be interetsed to know if anyone else comes up against this.

My entry is in now, me and laptop are going back to bed. Who's stupid now?!! It's still me isn't it?:o
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
I've entered and everything seems ok. But it wouldn't let me edit the data regarding my experience. Has anyone else had this problem? I've just gone ahead and paid, will someone contact me to check on experience?

I had this issue too - I paid the entry anyway. Not sure if this was the correct thing to do though!
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Same here and a club mate of mine said he had the same issue. I'm sure they will realise and sort it out one way or the other.
Either that or they'll reject all the entries :w00t:
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
I speak with no authority whatsoever, however it may have remembered your info. if you'd entered 1st time round.
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
I'm in. The section to add your AL fell race experience seems to be working now.

Yes, that was the same for me. My AL list isn't that long but long enough.
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Had the same issues as others re not being able to put my experience in but it still seemed to accept my entry so fingers crossed.
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
If you go back into the entry, you can now edit to put in the required information :sneaky:
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
I understand that the organiser may have an agreement with Viagogo, Stub Hub and Get Me In?
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
not quite the scrabble this time but still up to 362 entries
-
Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
I forgot all about the fact that Edale Skyline entries opened yesterday and just happened to be on SiEntries looking at future events and saw it there. Entry in and really looking forward to actually getting the chance to run it. Gives me a goal for September and I've certainly been putting in the miles/hills all year!

There'll be an extra one available soon.
An hour after I'd entered the wife informed me we're away at a wedding that weekend.
Will have to do the Hope Moors race the week after instead

Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Been on holiday so missed when entries opened, doh! On the waiting list though, any idea how long this is?

The sientries site says there are only 18 on the waiting list so far, so should be pretty much guaranteed a place I would say.

I knew it said the entry number somewhere on the SI Entries site, but have only just spotted it! Cheers, better get some training in...

Re: Edale Skyline Fell Race
Skyline place spare. Will be on here next couple of hours if anyone wants it.
-
