I'll get some tomorrow, cheers Daz.
Just done 28m, bloody tough in to the head wind, only managed to average 12mph although the climb was 2700" and almost all of them were into wind.
Enjoyed it though.

62ish miles yesterday in the head wind of doom! from my ma's, to oakworth, out to malham and up malham hill, back via goose eye. bloody dispiriting - pedalling to go downhill, getting blown 3 feet sideways when you rode past a gate. 5:20 so 11.5mph ave - poor ave speed also due to exteme caution due to current state of scabs and bruises. hope it is not windy when i have to do 100 - eep!
I looked at the bike today, I stroked it, I kissed it, I smiled at it, I waved at it, I closed the door on it then opened it again and had another quick look at it but I didnt ride it.
Maybe another day.
Well done Ratfink
Nice one Ratters!
First hills for me today since February (i haven't been allowed, mind you probably still not......) Anyway, just 35 miles of concentrated pain, Bwlch, Rhigos, Bwlch in hill climbing frenzy, which inevitably led to three 40 mph descents(defo not allowed in my condidtion), but it was a gorgeous day and I couldn't resist!!! Yippee, I'm back......nearly!
I'll be untucking the bike in the morning for some 2 wheeled fun! (possibly in the rain)
nice one toffer - glad to hear you are mending!
Good ride sunday 8.00am start from Queenferry to mold follow (A5519)then A494 up the rainbow to ruthin turn left B5429 follow then right up the nant y garth pass over the horseshoe pass down into llangolen turn left just passed the bridge for Worlds end (it hurts)off to minera(B5102) then to hope A550(we all need that)back to Queensferry around 55 miles but lots of hills just under 4hrs.on a 39/52X25(very windy)
Good riding Ratfink! I am glad to hear I am not the only one who gets blown sideways! Thought it was me being a weakling...
Excellent news Toff, but please be careful not to overdo things... Doctors are notoriously bad patients :D
No riding for me today, as a rest day, but took my New Zealand friend for a walk up Pen-y-fan via the race route, then a tour of the Black Mountains :)
Point taken Daz, but it was only a walk :)
Track tonight! Track tomorrow morning, then a crit in the evening... A women's only one... I need the points on my licence as I want to race those Halfords series races and I have to be 2nd cat for that, so need to quickly accumulate another 2 points to become 3rd cat, then 40 to become 2nd cat
good luck with the crit hann!
how does all the points scoring work?? when is the halford series?
60 wet miles with 3 other wet riders! Glad I forced myself out in the rain though, once you're wet it doesn't really matter.
spent the day feeling rough and sorry for myself., will force myself out on club run later
Listen to your body Anty! You may find rest is the better option...
Ratfink, the points thing is really rather un-intelligible... But when you place yourself, depending in what category race it is, you get points according to nplacing. You need 10 to go from 4th cat, the way we all start, to 3rd cat, then 40 while being a 3rd cat to get to 2nd cat... After that, you need to get silly points to get to higher categories...
The races I do a win typically attracts 10 or 15 points, then diminishing down to 10th place 1 point...
Hmmmmm...
Derny paces session on the track last night, VERY boring, only endurance based, so won't be going back there again. Bit disappointing really :(
My usual Wednesday morning session done and dusted... legs feeling like jelly mixed with concrete... That will be interesting for the crit I am riding tonight!
Just done my longest of 2010. New bike went well, tried to find some flatter roads. Managed 38 mile with an Av of 15mph.
I thought that was not very good until I down loaded the Garmin to discover the flattesh ride had 2200 feet of climb.
Legs are tired now so maybe a rest or light jog tomorrow bike again Friday and Sunday (with my good mate MerryL)
got off the train a stop early and did 40 miles round the peak 3600 feet, 3 hours average speed 13mph (15.6mph ave moving speed according to garmin gizmo) - lovely evening coming back by bamford and stanage. raced some boys back to ringinglow :)

did my 30 mile loop round the dales last night after work in 1 hr 39 mins knocking 4 mins off my fastest time.
just bought a new roofrack for my car to put the bikes on from the roofbox company based in Sedbergh. a really nice bunch of folks there an great service. www.roofbox.co.uk
15 miles on singlespeed crosser, half on road, half over moors with a big climb in the middle (Blackstone Edge Fell race) very hot and hardly any wind.
Debating weather to go out for an easy recovery ride after yesterdays hard efforts... or shall I just have an impromptu extra rest day? Track session tomorrow and a 50m TT on Sunday, think rest may be a good idea, especially as I am hungry and need to tidy the house as well :D
Done a couple of nice rides this week over 50miles with some big Peak District climbs thrown in
Black Rocks
Tansley
Via Gellia
Riber
Crich
to name but a few.
Pah! You're all lightweights,
JOGLE on a Raleigh Chopper
I'm rediscovering my cycling mojo by cycling to work three or four times a week. Well, I drive halfway and cycle the rest, but it's still 17.5 miles each way. Flat as a pancake (I work in York), but that does mean I can put in a good steady effort all the way - no freewheeling! I'm doing a 9-day JOGLE in a few months, so if anyone wants to go for a long hilly ride on a w/e between now and the end of August, give me a shout.
Just done a ride with Merrylegs (who is in great form).
36m in 3hr and before you all smile we did go over Holme Moss and managed 4200" of climb.
Good company, good ride, good weather what more can we ask for?
Wonder how much these cost?

Ahhhh, those... Gruber assist I think they are called, about £2k...
With my 50m TT pending on Sunday, my mentor told me to just go out for a nice ride in the sunshine today, which I did :) 46 kms in 1hr.35.58 with about 500 metres of climbing :) Happy with that...
2 hours on the single-speed mtb.... the trails just keep getting better and better.
last night an impromptu ride back from chesterfield station, to pilates in attercliffe - managed to avoid the rain - 18 miles, 1200 feet, making 25mi total for day
Back after sore knee and legs.
13.2 mile 1100" climb and Av speed of 14.8mph
Bit breezey this evening and chilly with it.
:) where did you go stagger? was your knee ok?
Finally got my new bike rack fitted to the car as the first fittings were not suitable for carbon forks.
I really want to give a mention to www.roofbox.co.uk in Sedbergh as they swapped everything over without question. great service (and I have nothing to do with them apart from being a recent customer)
Cattle Grids - How do you all take them on a road bike?
Theres a few round where I live....and I always get off because Im worried im going to buckle my wheel.
I was just reading someones blog from the fred whitton and the guy mentions a fellow cyclist bunny hoped the cattle grid. Sounds like a cracking idea but if you get it wrong your knackere!
On a fast downhill you can jump them without a problem. Some are worse than others with the concrete lip proud of the rungs which causes the problems. On a flat section I usually slow down and take the best line across, you get to know which are not too good after several years over the same ones!
