Excellent as per usual cant wait for next year, seeing the front runners coming down is always amazing, can't imagine the speed Kenny would be travelling, how do they do it, really need to work on my descent 160 going up 295 coming down :( need to acquire some bottle!!!!!!!!
Another year, another stabbing in Llanber!!! Great day, brilliant weather and loads of pissed up chavs around the Vic! To those of you who witnessed the fighting in Llanberis don't think that an usual weekend, loads of young chavs from other villages had arranged a fight in the village tonight that's the reason for all the police!
Just got home from a lock in, we can now hibernate until Xmas in Llanberis!!
Stephen Edwards and Jayne Lloyd, well done on organising a great day.
The last time I was there it was the same, they were turning cars over and ripping number plates off cars, throwing bottles and brawling. I knew it was a bad sign when I saw people snorting coke in the toilets, we took that as a cue to leave and we did just in time. Last time I'll bother spending anytime in Llanberis at night.
The place was full of young lads with crates of beer under their arm. And that was at lunchtime:eek:
On a different topic - we were in the Vic the weekend before the race and I was disappointed to see that the record board of winners and times hadn't been updated since 2006 - seems a shame for this to lapse - anyone have any contacts with the Vic and could ask them to add the winners since?
Just seen this on the BBC:

:(
Sad news.
It was good however to see the number of marshals, MR etc on the mountain, particularly with the number of "first time" fell/mountain runners taking part. I spoke to a couple of runners who had only ever run roads and didn't really know what to expect in this race, although a lot of them probably took it steady on the way down, I think it's more likely that experienced runners descending faster take a tumble. I hope Welsh Harrier has a speedy recovery.
