I've still got the majority of my Christmas shopping to do :o

You moved yet OHW? :closed:
Yes indeed DT  We moved in on Friday, got the tree up and everything straight in time for Xmas
All was going really well until 01:45 on Xmas morning. Santa had already been and left prezzies in the children's stockings... Then the vomiting started (my other half's 10 year old has had winter-puke-itis or whatever it's called). Chunks everywhere (why spew in the bucket your stood next to, when you can spread it all the way down the stairs and through the dining room?) Poor lad, talk about the worst ever day to be ill, exciting first night in new house AND Christmas all at once and then you get the lurgy good n proper.
But other than that, all went well, the boy recovered enough to open prezzies and much merriment has been had already in the new pad  Don't to go to work tomorrow, I want to walk out of the front door and into the countryside coz I can!
Sounds fab (well apart from the vomiting!) :w00t:
Happy New Year everyone :D
Looks like Pat is on her way out
Happy new year.
Back at work now, start tomorrow.
Looking forward to working, been a while now, nearly 4 weeks!
Happy New Year folks, still got one day off work tomorrow:thumbup:
Work for me tomorrow - might take my kit to work to have a run out somewhere different tomorrow.
Ho hum back to work. Lots of problems waiting for me when I checked in this morning
Is the first day back in work after Xmas / New Year the worst day of the year? First day back after summer holidays is bad but at least the weather's warm-ish then :closed:
I think it is the worst day of the year. So much so I usually book off the first day after the bank holiday, just so I don't have to face it quite so soon. I forgot this year though and paid for it early on with a broken car and a delayed train. Then Costa was shut. Work has been relentless. Now on my (delayed) train home. And just had the car fixing bill - £220. PFFT. Not a good first day back to the grindstone, but quite a good day for my mechanic.
It was on the news this morning that today is the worst day for car breakdowns http://i592.photobucket.com/albums/t...gebit/sad2.gif
Today's new wellies, Neoprene, 100% waterprooof and bloody warm to boot. Not cheap at £49 but have saved £80 in 20p's. Off for a muddy dog walk:thumbup:

Yes I saw that too Alf! Some bloke was wittering on about batteries and the like. Didn't mention water pumps did he though, pfft! Thankfully I didn't actually break down en route to work, it was making a funny noise before the weekend so decided to get it to the garage pronto. Wouldn't have liked being stuck waiting for the AA (other recovery services are available) somewhere out there in this weather today :thunbdown:Also, this doesn't explain why Costa was shut
Me too MerrySteve  Early night for starters, good night's sleep I hope, coz I missed off my whinge list that I hardly slept last night zzzZZZ.
Hope your second day back was better than my first OneHill, highlight of the day was getting rain and windlashed coming home on bike, it were that bad. Sod this working till you drop, i need to retire next week!
On the plus side reckon i bought them wellies at the right time, dog walk tonight was like wading through a river. They have conquered the most slippy downhill cobbles ever to be cobbled together by a cobbler known to man tonight. I been on my backside many times on said cobbles but tonight the arse remained airborne. I've been a wellie fan all my life, but i have now met the wellies of my dreams. Even have a slightly elasticated top so no wellie slap on calves. I could go all night but the wellies are yawning and need to be snuggled up.................is it a crime to love your wellies:w00t:
MerrySteve I would not have liked to have been on a bike in that weather. It's awful out there, but I did pass a couple of cyclists. The wellies sound amazing. I want some special wellies too :closed:
The storm outside is amazing. Am I going to have a roof tomorrow?
