Recces are the best opportunity to really appreciate where you are I feel. When racing, my view generally consists of grass, then rock, then a bit more grass. 'You're on top of a mountain.' 'Am I? Oh yes, I did glimpse something half an hour ago.'
Looking forward to some more recces in 2012.
