A tad cheeky calling it an archaeological walk though. They aren't THAT old! ;):D

Being from the Midlands I've always seen the seaside as a magical place and love pottering about on beaches, cliffs, birdwatching, eating ice-creams etc etc :)

Me too. I even have fond memories of visiting Skegness in mid winter, it being too blooming cold to stay on the beach for more than 5 minutes due to the gale force winds and the sea being too far out to even see it!

went to a gallery in Newlyn and found a book of Charles Causley's poems in the cafe. I read a wonderful one called Leonardo...wish I could post it but can't find it on the web,

ha ha...sounds like my family holidays...cornish pasties in the rain (pre-veggie days), thermos cups of coffee steaming up the windscreen and my sister refusing to leave the car to go for a walk, the wind getting up and mum and dad running back in a panic expecting to find the car and her blown off the cliff. Happy days!:D

You need good eyesight to see the sea at low-tide in Skegness ;):eek:

Do carry on. It is making me look forward to my hols even more. Then there is crabbing, seeing the lighthouse at night, touching sea anemones so they stick to your finger. Can't wait.

That does sound familiar. Dad never let the weather get in the way of getting to the beach even if we did have to have all the winter woolies on. Those were the days!
