eeerrrrgghhhhhh! where are you all? My frend chateua neuf du pape has done hos wurst and it is now just 4 hiours to headachey braeky time. Oooh wheres the nurofenm?????
Are you a Chelsea fan then!?..or do you just like an occasionally sociable night in with Ms Vino?? :)
Noisy as hell around here! Back home with the trouble and strife and the bin lids. To think, only this morning I was sat on a bench in Ambleside with a sausage, egg and bacon butty in glorious sunshine, bloody marvellous:thumbup:
Nah, completely unfussed by association soccer. Just spent a top evening with family and friends. Cooked up a big roast dinner with lashings of red wine and one thing followed another. Ended up cracking a bottle of chateau ghirand Sauternes which I had been saving for a big occasion....this had obviously turned into one!
Very Quiet Around Here, where's that Derby Tup???
Chimney fire, that's an exciting way to spend a Friday night - better than the boring old pub.
Not content with taking the Missus to Lidl for our wedding anniversary, I (nearly) set fire to the new house tonight. Just finished clearing up the mess and plonked her in the bath to rinse off the soot.
Anyone got some floor cloths and a bucket of cleaner + a few spare hours????
Oooeer, Hope your flue is OK now. Never light a fire in a new flue until you have inspected it for obstructions or leaks or else you can end up in a terrible mess!
Found they hadn't lined the chimney (woodburner), big pile of soot on top of the register plate was smouldering away rather too well .....hotter....and hotter....and hotter...... worried about the beams etc. catching. Ripped the flue out of the register plate and sorted it out. Few bucketfulls of soot were well alight :w00t:. Thank god I wasn't pissed at the time!
Next job - chimney liner.
Ian's right, call the pro's in:wink:

...and on that note, good night all....
Or given the recent anniversary, old passions could have been re-ignited.

Don't forget the missus is still in the bath Moley, pub tomorrow night:wink:
Bit too close to the truth guys.
Missus and I have lived in 4 houses (first 2 were tied cottages) since we met - and I've had a chimney fire in all 4 now :o.
Previous 3 fires we had the fire brigade out, so I decided I had learnt enough from them to do it myself this time .
I put the brushes up this chimney a few weeks ago, as a precaution and see what it was like, found it wasn't lined then (but clean). Hoping to get through the summer before lining it (££££'s), but obviously there was a lot of old soot lying on top of the register plate, which caught. Priority job now.
This is more me: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aY1APSk0SS0
Just watching Springwatch with the cat. The sea eagle catching fish and the sparrowhawk catching small birds really impressed him :D
Just been applying copious amounts of aftersun to my face after getting caught out in the hills today!
Glowing face! :o
Just had some mayonaise for dinner, for a special treat.
I think it's making me a bit hyper.
Better go and do some washing up.
Hmm, it says 2 members viewing this thread but only my name showing. I must have a doppelganger.
Reading back over the last few random pages, it strikes me that QAH is actually the Forums very own version of Twitter........and pre-dates it by many years!
Sat reading a forum.
Ah yes, properly QAH. Great night with old friends and wino. Can barelt see the keys to type but I loves you all!
Has t'forum been down? Or has everyone been busy:p
Think it must of been down but happy days are here again.
A blackbird just collided with our front window and survived. Most exciting thing that has happened round here today:rolleyes:
A pigeon once hit my bedroom window. Thought it was going to come right through it!
Is it really only Poosday? I may go home on time tonight - that would be nice. :)
Just completed the cat's 3 month service. Worming and a new flea collar. It will be a couple of hours before he fully trusts me again. Cats, unlike humans, have very short memories and forgive quickly. Just another part of the minutiae that consumes my life :D
 Cats are stupid. Fact.
My cat has been dressed in a T Shirt for 2 days to stop her biting an injury on her back and making it worse - she has forgotten she's wearing in though - looks like a failed super hero in it
bit bored
This is her saying "I really F-ing hate you right now" (having been recently manhandled into it - not an easy task!) Note, she's gone straight to the food bowls knowing full well guilty owner = tuna... Not that stupid then!

Ten minutes later - belly full of tuna, curled up on my knee!

She's not wearing the t shirt anymore, took it off yesterday, and the first thing she did was strip the scab off her nicely healing wound  Hopefully the skin underneath is healed enough for it to be ok, but if not we will be making her another T shirt ;) What colour shall we go for next?
Very cute.
