from what i can figure out; bogs and rain.
sounds like fun!
see ya there
I had a run up the Beacon last night and was surprised how dry everywhere was tbh. Didn't go over to check the bog mind ;)
It has been very dry, though it's drizzling now. The tricky bit to my mind is the stretch up to Round Hill once you leave Timble Ings. The path is deep and narrow with lots of fixed stones in that make you concentrate on foot placement more than you'd like to. I'm not familiar with the return leg.
It is literally all runnable even for a plodder like me. The descent from Round Hill is great
We'll see. Having done the Burn Half, Wasdale and Holme Moss and a handful of little mid-week jobbies inside 2 weeks I've been left feeling a touch jaded (I'm spending too much time in IanDP's company) and with a sprained ankle. So, I've had 12 days of total rest and beer. Should be an interesting day out.
Many thanks to Otley AC. Nice course, well marked and marshalled. I've never seen Thatch Ling so dry, more like a spongy mattress than swimming in pea soup.
Well I enjoyed that. Had a bit of an accident on the way down from Round Hill so am limping a bit today but managed to be only 1 sec slower than last year despite sitting down and howling in pain for over a minute.
Some fine sex discrimination on show with a mens team prize but none for the women! As one of the people that would have been in that winning ladies team I was most upset!
