Yes , I've seen the web site .
I was lucky enough to fly over Titterstone and the valleys today and all the roads were clear , but , the weather forcast isn't looking too good for tommorow . If the roads get blocked Titters I'm sure will be off . Roads to church strettton are all main roads though so it would have to be really bad for that one not to go ahead .
Really looking forward to it as well . Been off the booze for at least five days and everything .
If you can fly I don't suppose the snow will be a problem for you !:p
I'm very lucky that my job allows me to fly (when the runways aren't covered in snow that is)
However , my running style could hardly be described as "flying" . More like drunken runner .
In my experience, ask a layperson where Shropshire is and they wont know. There then follows a conversation like "somewhere in between Birmingham and Wales". This isolation serves us well.
But we do have technology (...and mains electricity, now its back on!) I heard on Radio Shroppy this morning that as our 2 local ploughs have been loaned to the Highways Agency to keep the main roads open, the 3 'retained' local snow ploughers ("tooled-up" farmers. Now there's a thought) have been called into action.
Weather forecast is sleet & snow for the Shropshire Hills this weekend but check the Mercia site for updates. Shame I cant run this one (injured again - see the 'falling' thread) but hope its a great run.
Anyone got any latest on these races ? No update on the Mercia site yet.
Sorry folks, just noticed the read more tag on Mercia's weather warning update. Looks like Titterstone is on although freezing temperatures overnight might make parking an issue with icy roads around the start.
Just read Mercia site . Looks good for tommorow and Sunday .
Fantastic ! :)
A hard week means not going down for the Clee race, though sounds like it will be fun:eek:. Just off to Worcester so see some of you on Sunday in church Stretton.
