A lovely trot out last night just as dusk was closing in. The ground was sodden after a day long deluge of rain but everything was stunning last thing with the sky gradually going a beautiful azure colour, red tinged by the setting sun. As is usual when running with Harry, just when you think he's had a nice run and is having a much deserved drink and rest, he sees a rabbit sprint from cover and pelts after it, along with 3 others who were startled to join in, and bang goes Harry (and the 4 rabbits) all disappearing right to the top of one of the Limestone buttresses over-looking Attermire Scar.... with me begrudgingly trotting/clambering along behind. It was pretty much full on night time by the time we were back down, leaving us both still a couple of miles from home and no head torch either. Good fun though :)

A 6.5 to 7 mile trot out back yesterday in overcast and misty weather and then a slightly shorter version of the route today. A cracking view of Settle from above Cleatops Wood taken today with my route (of yesterday) dropping down to the farm house middle right before hacking around High Hill and up to the trig on Warrendale Knotts on the horizon far right before scooting back to dear old Settle nestling snugly in the middle of picture.

Yesterday's route
Just to annoy forumites that criticise me for running up Plover Hill and Pen Y Ghent from Horton all the time, this morning I ran up Plover Hill and Pen y Ghent from Horton. The bogs on top were superb! I also incredibly bumped into a troupe of 3 peakers that work in the same office as me (on the floor above though) - they had just got to the PyG trig from Brackenbottom and one of the girls had climbed over the wall to have a pee.......... just as me and harry appeared out of the gloom :D.

I suppose there's always a certain egocentricity and narcissism in any online diary or blog, and I am a little uncomfortable with that. By his own admission, Stolly works in financial matters, and it is well-known that capitalism encourages a focus on gratification and social approval.
JF I've always posted on this thread on the basis that anyone who didn't like it could just not look at it. Its not compulsory. And as for a blog, that would really be taking myself far too seriously. Anyway the year's almost up and I'm pretty much stolly runned out with it all anyway so not long and it'll all be gone :)
