Legs just did not work what so ever.
I have never run so poorly - ever.
I went up the first climb really well, i wasnt far behind simon booth!!!
My legs had just blown up within the first mile, i couldnt even run tiny inclines which everyone else was. I made it to weatherlam in not a too bad time really but I had to battle to keep moving to get to the top!
I considered jacking it in here but I forced myself to battle on, to try not to think about the race and just treat it as a mental-toughening experience.
Anniversary Waltz has to have had something to do with it, although ive woken up this morning full of a cold so I dont know if that was part of it. What ever the reason I had a shocker, I was looking forward to really pushing myself but I just had nothing to give.
Ive scrapped pendle cloughs next weekend, im going to rest and recover, train hard and learn from it.
'ard luck Olivia..I was amazed to find out you didn't win. Got you on the video ascending Swirl How at Prison Band..you looked to gannin well at that point.
Also amazed to find out that Ian Holmes beat Hope Hope 'n Co. He seemed to be way back at Swirl How.
Film should be out this evenin' wi' a bit o'luck.

1. Emma Clayton
2. Olivia Walwyn
3. Lauren Jeska

1. Ian Holmes
2. Rob Hope
3. Morgan Donnelly

On the website it says results should be up this evening. I wonder if they know I go to bed at 9.45?
The results are now there on the Coniston website - a bit hidden at the very bottom of the page. Just need to download the xl file...
very sad to see i am not in the results, i know i was last but i got round and there where people at the finnish..................oh well i know i completed it.................thanks for a great weekend, the kali was great fun!!
I have seen Mrs crabbers at many races, near the back but always smiling and enjoying it, well done and respect to her and all other 'back of the field runners', may not be fast but tough characters all the same:cool:
Just seen Fellephants U Tube video of the race - I think its one of the best yet, there is a shot early on traversing and following a runner as he runs across to the Old Man with the valley spread out below - really gives the impression of height and space and movement. Some of the descent shots are the best I've seen as well - you dont often get the impression of speed with a lot of them but some of these really seem to capture it - great video, thanks very much, makes me just want to go out and do it all again!
And yes, I think I saw myself near the start so extra points for that as well!

And dedicated to a fellow forumite! " The Flash"
I've just watched Fell Elephants video too - excellent work. Just a suggestion though - next year can he position himself/herself to video Ian Holmes secret descent route!! The pictures at the top indicate how far off the pace he was - to win from there is absolutely amazing. Just wish I'd kept faith in him for my Fantasy Fell running team!!

Thanks David.
Is there a start list available for this? any way to make sure I got my entry in early enough and I'm heading up for more than just to drink Bluebird and join the Mr. FR birthday shenanigans! (although who could ask for more?!)
If you have pre-entered then it is a safe bet that you are in.
How about if you haven't pre-entered, anyone know if turning up on the day is likely to yield a place?
There's pre entry on the day if the race limit hasn't been reached. If it had been I expect there would be something on the website. You could drop the organiser a line to make sure perhaps?
