Get well soon Ali.;)
If anymore are lame and drop out I might be up for a prize before too long:eek:
Sprint finish for Madmick and Tomsk:)
Looks like it will be a close finish between MadMick and Tomsk!! I intend to beat Tomsk - but I think he is a bit optimistic with his time:D
I'm not prepared to risk complete embarrassment by guessing a time - I just want to run well and finish without injury. Will be having a go at the CLEM sweepstake (guess your time) and might just have a go at the Wharfedale lads pot as well if I bump into them.
Hope everyone else has a good run & see you on Saturday

To All:
We (Eryri) have space in Accomodation we've booked at Onich. It's a bunkhouse/hut. 5 or so bedrooms with 2-5 or so beds in each room. £5.50 per night. 2 spaces going.
We have 2 dogs coming along too.
Fully decked out kitchen, showers, living room, drying room, off the road parking, about 15 minutes from Fort William.
PM or email (iain.ridgway(at)bangor.ac.uk) for details.
An ironic post script to this. I booked my Ben race yonks ago, got fairly badly injured in May but worked my socks off to get fit in time for a Ben Nevis come back and was more or less there. Then just two weeks ago I find out that my daughter is playing rugby on the day of the the race and pass on my race start.
I found out last night that the rugby pitch in Wigan is waterlogged and this game (the away leg in a two game tournament) has been rearranged for 27th September
Just setting off.
Have a good-un everyone.
Mrs Stagger and me are in the Stainland Lions vests (the only two) so say hello.:)
That's tough nuts Stolly. The only silver lining is that you did the right thing and you probably have received an anonymous credit to your Brownie Point account!;)
Wot an anti-climax...all that build up...then nowt! Come on you Ben runners...gi' us some results.
Sam won the U23's Wharfeego!
Provisional results 'ere http://shr.uk.com/Home.aspx
Good Morning or is it has I lay ere in agony with a sore body and a hangover. The race was my second time and a bit slower than last year, my back was killing me on the climb, but it was great views and freezing in parts. I think I prefer to do it in the clag you can't see what you are doing on the descent.my excuse is 14 pints over 2 days prior to the race
The friends of Nevis are handing out leaflets to suggest changes to protect the erosion.
1. Start the race in the town centre.
2. Make the runners go up the tourist path instead of the shortcuts.
3. More split times.
Anyway congratulations and thanks to all the runners, organisers, spectators and marshals. I will be back for a 3rd time to finally lose the tag of a roadrunner yes we don't slag the fellrunners off, but some fellrunners can't help slagging the roadies. Perhaps the fellrunners want to race these roadies in X-country and be more appreciate of them.
Sorry for the rant but when you have to put up with these comments from your own club members in get up your nose a bit and its like Jebby speech at the presentation last night about the rumour that the foreigner can't run or down hills Jebby said they certainly proved it yesterday. All they moan about was how cold it was on the top.
What a good day out that was on the Ben yesterday. Much better weather than last year led me to be almost 8 minutes faster! Can't complain about that!
Hope everyone else is OK and did well - I didn't see too many fallers this year and thankfully I also managed to stay upright.
Quite strange seeing those foreign types around with their strange hair dos! :D At least it meant we all got a free Buff! Good value for money that...
I'm not keen on those proposed changes to the race. I forgot to fill in a card to express my dismay though. I couldn't imagine running into town at the end of the race - it's hard enough to get into the park! The other downside is that Kenny Stuart's record would go! Hopefully it won't transpire (and they won't make us run on the path all the way up and down either)...
71st in under 2 hours:cool: Well done Fleeter................you ballbag:p
Great effort by the Ridgways !! Well done both
It used to start and finish in town up to 1971 and Peter Hall of Barrow had the record at 1hr 38min 50secs
Another good Ben Race. Nice to meet up with so many forumites, particularly Martin and Martins Mrs at Southwaite earlier this afternoon!
Hi,
After a year of annoying illnesses, I was reduced to watching from the sidelines (yes, I did relinquish my place months ago!). However, I did manage to do something productive by taking a few photos. They're often focused on my Westerlands colleagues, but include various random others.

Descent crap but thats my fault, got to the top OK but lost 50ish places on the descent. Mrs Stagger was behind me at the top and beat me by 9 mins at the end.
