I like that Idea, if we can't come up with any thing else let's do it.

Hi Mad Dog
Hows the training going mines pretty "average"
The old man is trying to shake off the injury he got at Winter Hill, so it's kind of ground to a halt at the moment. He rather stupidly ran at Parbold Hill the foloowing weekend - bad idea! He's almost right now, but he'll be gutted if he doesn't make Edale Skyline.
Should be a good forum contingent at the 3 Peaks by the sound of it.
Woof!
If anyone is interested. 3 of us will be on the course this Thursday to do a recce.
We are meeting at the car park in Horton in Ribblesdale at 9:30am and hope to set off 9:45am - 10am.
Just got my number through - 538
I have a confession to make. Part of my 3P training includes a road race this weekend. The splendidly imaginatively named "East Hull 20". I suppose it is too much to expect any other Forumites to be doing what must be (I imagine - I have never done it before) the flatest race going?
Just one more week to get your entries in. They close on March 21st.
not many places left then...538 at least gone out of 600! Really exciting that it is becoming more popular again
Coming down from Scotland at the end of the month and am planning a reccie on the Sunday (April 1), staying in Hawes on the Saturday night. Anybody else fancy a reccie (planning on doing the whole thing) kicking off about 9.30am?
Got my entry back yesterday and couldn't believe I'd got in - number 593 so not many more places to go!
Must be the biggest entry for years. My training is down the pan. I have not run for 2 weeks and struggled to do 4 yesterday. No motivation at all. Blubberhouses in 2 weeks so that should get me going again
see on 3 p's website entries are now officially closed, must be the first time in years its got full and closed entires early
We're in Dave and that's all that matters!
May do Ingleborough and Whernside next Friday
Whay! Got my entry confirmation back today - number 606 so either the organisers have increased the field or they are expecting a reasonable no-show.
Better get training :o
They wouldn't need a sniper to hit me - anything in the general direction is likely to miss the barn door and hit me instead
anyone doing a recce this weekend or next? Would like to come along! Please let me know...cheers!
Moo, i've pm'd you.
Oh no I've picked up a niggle in my ankle and its stopping me running. i really need a 20 this week or next as any closer to the day might be too late. I am seriously depressed. :(
Moo, I will be up next Friday?
There is a recce on 1st April if anyone is interested.
Details.
Is anyone doing a reccie on Saturday ? - That is my prefered long run day.
does anyone know if the path that turns left off B6479 at some houses i think, (the road bit before ribblehead station) that leads up through colt park, past the trig point on park fell-south house moor(?) and goes over top of south house fell and meets the race route just down from top of ingleborough is runnable?
was thinking of doing last final long run (mon 15th April) over part of the course but cutting it short by cutting acros to ingleborough??
cheers
dave
Hello Three Peakers and Readers.
I will not be doing the three peaks this year unfortunately. Does anyone know the procedure for returening or passing on numbers.
Hope the trainings going well for you all.
Cheers
Jamie
sorry to hear that, how come?
imagine you either call the organisers or turn up on the day with someone to take youer place, think that costs 2 quid
Sorry to hear that NOYH, Last year I got injured and passed my entry on within my club and they declared themselves at the start. This seemed to be ok, not sure if they've tightened this year up with next years 3PK's being a Major Championship.
Hope you recover soon
ian

Hope your training is going great guns Manhar

Training is going Ok - ish. Will do a long one tomorrow - up to 4 hrs - will let you know how it goes.
Okey dokey matey. where is your 4 hour run.
Im not gonna get my 21 3 peaks certificate at this rate
I'll get myself right then, wipe the slate clean and start building up the miles again.
Catch you soon
Peaks Recce 1st April
There may be some changes to the timing/route as there may only be 1 car, so if anyone is planning to join us let me know by 5pm on Saturday and I will confirm the final details.
What a brilliant day for reccying 3 Peaks. Was that you Brummy John at Horton c 9.30am jumping in cars presumably heading for Ribblehead just as I arrived? Having come down from Scotland wanted to get my money's worth apart from the beer in Hawes last night, and ran the whole hog. Stunning scenary, I must have stared at the Ribblehead Viaduct for at least 10 minutes. Plus I was a good boy and took the longer (but probably easier route up Whernside). Totally knackered this evening ( a 180 mile drive home doesn't help) but can't wait for the real thing in 4 weeks.
Might be, we parked at Selside, just north of Horton, black car, (on the road heading up to the pot holes) and started on the road heading north to Ribblehead to join the proper 3P route. Three of us.
Well done on doing all 3. We were knackered after doing just W and I! We took the longer route up W too. Quite a breeze going up there, nearly blew my wig off.
BJ - probably not as I was parked by the bridge over the river just down from the station. Suffering a bit today - any tips on recovering strength in my legs ????
Wish I had, I can feel it in my thighs and we only did 2/3 of the course at quite an easy pace!
