we should have a camera
mine is kerpluncked :(
Booked myself into the sheepfold at Keswick YHA tomorrow nite. Was there talk of meeting for beer tomorrow nite?
The Master, Castlehill and I are driving up on Sunday morning and hoping to drop the car off at Dunmail. NOUH has kindly agreed to take one or two of us up to Threlkeld from there. Does anyone have space for one more from Dunmail at say 9:15 on Sunday morning?
Thats better...
All is clear... so long as we get to Threlkeld for 10 to start the run thats fine.
We wont need to meet at Moot Hall
Wheres Mrs Crumbly when i need her???:D
Sorry Em, i think you lot meet at Moot Hall then going together to Threlkeld where leg 2 starts.
We are driving up on sunday am, dropping my car at Dunmail then cadging a lift to Threlkeld (i think)
Stop worrying!
And by the way, im usually wrong about things like this which is why the ultra-organised Marvin is the logistics director in my car:D
i will bring my camera,it's not the best but it takes photos
where have me and fleeter got to be at
moot hall or threkeld?????????
Im shooting for Threlkeld for the 10 oclock start.
Im meeting my mate at dunmail and he is leaving his 7 seater at 9.15, Im also meeting The Master, Castlehill and Marvin there or some of them and they are leaving a car.
Its best if I get myself/ourselves to threlkeld rather than try to get to keswick for 9.30
Hope this has not caused any confusion.
People people people, why all the confusion! its like a WI meeting.
Its very easy either 9.30 at moot Hall or 10.00 am At threlkeld!
I'm m also travelling up in morning now have got a dose of real man flu so will travel in morn and book a hotel! but i will be at Moot Hall for 9.30 am thats in the morning when it's light not when it's bed time!:D
The weathers minging here in Darwen Lancashire, hope it improves for tommorow.
Has Emmi's foot past its late fitness test, or is she going to be shopping in Penrith with my other half.
I'm still confused with all this or am I just being more dim than usual???
Where are we all starting this run FROM????
For those that get to Moot Hall at half 9 do we then have to get to Threk?? It seems that only Amex is now going to this suffering hall - oh an me and Calf ..........arrghhhhh!!:o
someones gonna have to ring me in the morning or something cos I can see me ending up at the foot of some mountain miles from anyone!!!
I know where the curry house is so I guess that's the main thing eh??
Jamie my foot is sore yeah but I'm figuring bruphen, gels, paraceatamol and a piggy back should see me right.
Are you and C driving up in the morn?
me and fleeter will be at moot hall for 9.30:)
so we meet at moot hall at 9:30 and then run to threlkeld for the 10am meet????
. o O (wonders what the consequences of missing the start and having to spend ALL day in the pub)
damm ive got no aftershave , my lad and his mates have pinched it :(
amex your gonna have to pull all the stops out and bring some of your finest if we have any chance with the keswick ladies
have a rummidge and see what you have
all ive got is some brut from years ago
damm it
Weather forecast in Needle Sports' window says dry, windy and cold with 90% chance of a clear day tomorrow. Cracking fish and chips from that place near NB shop!
If you had manflu (properly) so badly that you were a shivering trembling wreck but had promised to go outrunning with some friends, what would you do? If you were sensible you'd probably hide under a blanket?
Amex didnt.
He drove all the way up to Keswick to make sure everyone got off ok then was waiting at Dunmail to ferry a few back to Keswick.
He looked close to death and was heading straight home to bed and missing the night out (those of you that know him will now realise just how ill he was)
Steve, you are insane and an absolute bloody hero, tis an honour to count you as a friend.
Get well soon:D
RU in a WIFI hotspot now or back home?
He's home, as am I.
A bit of an epic. 21 of us experienced snow, ice, gale force winds etc.. Definitely Christmas conditions. Thanks everyone, especially Amex, the drivers (of the cars) and navigators over the fells. I'm sure some photos will follow.
just got back now,was a bit mad above 2500ft :p ,thanks to everyone who turned out much fun was had,big thank you steve and daz for the lifts
Had a great night last night, its a real shame Steve was to ill to make it out.
Had quite a surreal night really, ended up in the loft (nightclub)with 5 complete strangers I had only met an ran with that day and having a whale of a time. The waiters from the indian also turned up in the nightclub. So we had a laugh with them and they have promised us free beer next time.
In the dance off stakes, Steve S would have clearly won, he and my missus ended up having a dance off with most of the locals in the club.
Cant wait till the next one, well done Steve for turning out and seeing us off. I sent you a christmas text did you get it?
See you all at easter, perhaps a post Anni Waltz night out would be good.
Cheers to everyone who turned up it was a blast.
High 5s all around
Jamie
I had a brilliant day yesterday! Run was fab, great to meet everyone and looking forward to doing similar again in 2008. As everyone says, it's a real shame Steve missed out but I'm sure he'll make up for it in the Spring!
Same sort of stuff to say really - I had a great day. Despite the wind and cold I enjoyed the run, then the beer, curry, more beer and Loft with a bunch of people I'd only met the first time that morning was great fun.
I was disappointed by the low number of survivors to the Loft for the dancing competition! I reckon those couple of hours crosstraining on the dance floor cleared out the lactic and eased any aches or pains I might have otherwise had today!
Another big thanks to Steve for organising, and for going above and beyond by travelling up to the Lakes to act as a taxi whilst too ill to do any of the enjoyable bits of the day.
must thank amex , what a top guy , i owe you one
you looked well ill mate but gave us a lift and back, i cant thank you enough.
if the country had more guys like you well we would all live in a better place
i didnt manage to crack onto any of the keswick lasses either as by 11.00 o clock and 2 days without sleep my key had wound down:) , sorry i didnt make the nightclub.
strange thing was at 8.00 o clock the following morning i was outside in the rain standing in front of the moot hall just looking and staring at it with a big grin on my face
in a weird way i loved the weather up there, very cold on helvellyn, met lots of new friends, great
helped the master put his pants on in a whiteout :D , but he managed to put them on the wrong way, picture minus 27 windchill and we are faffing about with his tracksters. well we got them on in the end , it was quite an experence. me in a santa suit , must have looked quite odd.
must thank emmi for lending me her gardening gloves:eek: , they was amazing , really brought my hands back to life.
good company on the way up from fleeter and im glad he is back fellrunning, he even demolished a full fry up in the morning after god knows how many pints
like you say jamie we should have another one
cant wait
