Was a battle getting out of Burnley this morning. Thought about binning it and going home, but once I hit Tod it were fine. Halifax alright too. 40min journey took me 90 though. Heading home soon before the temp starts dropping again.

My friend took 2.5 hours this morning to get from mine to his to take reception of his kids... normally takes a tad under an hour
I am definitely leaving the car at work...
I'm off out to play and get some snow on my studs
Please, please, please could all snow, ice, wind and freezing fog just calm down for Wednesday or Yvie's Daddy won't get flown home for her first Christmas :(
Erm more snow has fallen overnight ^_^
No snow, just a heavy frost.
Bloody cold.
Merrylegs will still be fast asleep
A6 shut - drifts 3 foot deep non drifty bits getting on for a foot deep kids arrive soon then play starts ..... oh it's been along time since the last hots hands
No snow here!
Just retrieved the car from this morning's attempt to get from Kendal to Shap. I really shouldn't have tried it. This is the first time in 5 years I've not made it up the A6!
It's been snowing for the last hour here.
Its deffo going to be a snowy xmas day. No way this snow will melt by then.
-7 for tonight according to BBC....sweet =)
just spent 2.5 hours in the car trying to get over to Kendal
back at home now
Mrs Alf went to Morrisons just before the last heavy snow showers. As we live on a hill there is no way she is going to get the car up the estate and to the house. I cleared our drive yesterday so all snow on it now is new. About 2.5 inches in the last hour and a half and no gritting on the estate since last night and that was pretty pathetic. I am organising a couple of sledges to carry all the shopping up and as the cat isn't interested in pulling them looks like that is my job for the day :D
The snow in North Manchester has now reached alarming levels......
......not that we are moaning, we North Mancs will just get on with things without having to hide in metro stations and sing Vera Lynn songs :D
We East Mancs will just get on with things too Danbert & are wondering what all the fuss is about - 1 or 2 namby pamby softies are looking to leave the Office early & I see apparentley tough looking blokes walking around wearing gloves - I ask you - what is the world coming to ?
fab drive home yesterday. a 2 hour journey took us 8. at one time i had covered 26 miles in 4 hours...and realised i could have run it faster. the entire journey of 144 miles was completed at 17 mph...i could have beaten myself on my bike!! (but as t'missus pointed out i would not have had the luggage carrying capacity!)
Tesco man made it up my road, despite the fact that it's covered in a layer of ice, yesterday morning. He's a trooper Tesco man
But not as good as RAC man, who came and replaced my car battery this morning, when the car would not start... He arrived pretty promptly, considering conditions, checked the battery, declared it dead and lo and behold, he had the right one with him in the van, so without any fuss, the thing got replaced and I now have a starting car again :) :) :)
Invaluable, if you live in the sticks with no other means of transport, like I do!
Woohoo for RAC and Tesco man! :D
More snow here by the loooks of it! :)
Off sledging for potentially the last time in a long time:( - Not had any snow fall in over a day now and its warming up.:(
I am hoping it warms up, I want Edinburgh airport to be open tomorrow, as I am flying there :D
