So it's at just about 300 now. Does anybody know how many online entries are available?
£6000 of entry fees in under 12 hours... can't be bad!!!
For what it's worth, the 3 peaks route is very sign posted with much of the area where widely different routes would be available (below Pen y Ghent) being made out of bounds for the day. The descent from Pen y Ghent has to follow the Pennine way, with many runners running sort of parallel to that but in the softer bog fields to the right. Ditto the descent from Whernside only really offers a couple of corners to cut with not much at all from Inglebrough until you get a chance to cut a corner not far from the finish.
A recce though would be a great idea, more as a practise run than anything else. I've just moved to Settle and I'm thinking about running the three peaks route fairly often next year - I'd be up for recces for sure. That said its more fun to run the 3 peaks ignoring the race route, short cutting below Pen Y Ghent and doing the all runnable loop to the top of Whernside.
well thats me signed up!
number 313:D
I'm in too, I am up for any recce runs before the end of the year.
