Nick - although this was also my first ever DNF, I don't feel like the day was "wrecked" - learned a few things for next time  - and what's not to like about spending 7 hours out in the Lakes in good weather

I agree your route would have been nicer, I did it in reverse on the GL3D recently (which is partly why I avoided it, it felt steeper than undulating at the time!)
But you were just in front of us when you took the detour, and only just coming into site when we left the main road, so I think you probably lost more time than that.
Anyway, even 3 minutes is important when you've got a tight cut-off to make :)
Results are now up on Achille Ratti website.

I know Britnick don't carry much weight on him, but Stickport Harriers!
A typo, nobodies perfict:)
I noticed that, Steve. I did titter.
I WILL be back better rested to do it justice and give it the respect it deserves. This year was just the taster.
I agree, especially in the light of recent events. I myself hate rules and regulations, and there is nothing more I like than to go on long solo runs in the Lakes, but if you enter Fell races you should respect the rules set down, if anything had happened, and the press had got hold of the story do you think they would take it at face value, no they would try and sensationalize it, and subsiquently blame would point to the RO.
Also I cannot believe that this was endorsed after the events from the previous year when two runners were named and banned for the same infringement.
